A brief history of U3A Nunawading 25 Years of Lifelong Learning The University of the Third Age (U3A) is an international, not-for-profit organisation run entirely by volunteers and operating in many countries around the world. U3A Nunwading Inc. was established in 1990 to provide learning opportunities and social activities for retired and semi-retired members of the local community. From its small beginnings 25 years ago, U3A Nunawading now has almost 2,000 members and offers in excess of 160 courses in languages, computer skills, health and fitness, arts and crafts, humanities, music, sciences and recreation. U3A has no academic entry requirements or formal assessments and classes are delivered and administered by member volunteers. Classes are held on weekdays during school terms excluding public holidays. In addition to learning activities there are a number of social events throughout the year. U3A Nunawading is celebrating its Silver Jubilee with a range of performances and displays at Silver Grove, Nunawading between 6 – 8 October 2015.
