To help expectant teen mothers work through important decisions regarding keeping their babies or giving them up for adoption.8. To help at-risk individuals make better choices about sexual activity, alcohol use and other unhealthy behaviors that often lead to teen pregnancy, abortion, premature birth and unhealthy newborns.

Why have more infants died due to hypothermia and hyperthermia
in the last 25 years?
Air bags in front seats have moved babies to the back seat, where they are more likely to be forgotten.

Imagine that someone in your life is about to become a teen parent. They are under the impression that being a parent is all fun and games and photo ops, and really have no idea about the dangers and issues that we have discussed in this unit.

Working collaboratively, write this teen a letter to advise them on the issues we discussed in this unit. Be sure to include as many concerns and warnings to be aware of about FAS/drug use while pregnant, SBS, SIDS and safe car temperatures. You may also include things you learned in preparation for the baby project (IE head support).
