Semi-Automatic RF Door &

Automatic RF Door

The versatile, easy-to-use PDC Semi-Automatic RF Door is the state-of-the-art solution for MRI room access. The pneumatically driven latching system automatically latches the RF door to ensure an effortless RF seal. Simply move the door to closed position, and the pneumatic latch pulls the RF door into the fully closed position. Add the Stanley automatic opener, and the door becomes the PDC Automatic RF Door.

Key Features: Safety—all PDC Semi-Automatic and Automatic RF Doors can be opened

manually using the door handle at any time - even if there is a power failure. Eliminates the effort required to operate manual RF doors. Automatic latching systems ensure uniform EMI seals around door and frame. RF gasket material resists oxidation, reduces sound transmission and eliminates

premature failures associated with other types of RF sealing materials. Meets or exceeds all MRI manufacturers’ attenuation specifications. Equipped with two push-plate door actuators and a key activated power switch for

locking and securing the MRI scan room. Acoustical upgrades available with a variety of STC ratings. Automatic latching system and fixed RF gaskets eliminate scanning downtime that

is often associated with RF bladder door failures. PDC Semi-Automatic and Auto-matic RF Doors can be operated manually in the event of a power or utility failure.

Unique Patented Technology: Traditional RF doors are generally difficult to open and close due to the added force and friction caused by RF contact fingers and RF gaskets. PDC’s patented pneumatic strike assembly eliminates these problems by extending the strike plate out from the RF door frame. This allows the latch bolt to nest into the extended strike plate (Figure 2) prior to the door leaf contacting the RF gasket material. Once the latch bolt is securely nested into the extended strike plate, the automatic strike assembly retracts the strike plate into the closed position against the RF gasket material. This eliminates the force required to close the door against the RF gasket and ensures a uniform positive RF seal. In the event the power system fails, the RF door can be operated manually and scanning can continue until the proper repair is made. PDC’s RF Doors operate on standard 115 VAC electrical service and clean, dry compressed air.

Integrated Security: PDC Semi-Automatic and Automatic RF Doors come equipped with push-plate actuators located both inside and outside the MRI scan room. This allows automatic entry and exit at all times using the push-plate actuators. The RF Doors can also be opened using the door lever handle at all times, unless intentionally locked for security purposes. The push-plate door actuators are equipped with a power off key to disable the automatic system for security purposes.

Integral RF Door Pass Through Waveguide: US Patent: 08,087,203

PDC’s patented “RF Door Pass Through Wave-guide” is an integral feature of the RF Door Frame. The RF Door Pass Through Waveguide eliminates disconnecting and then reconnecting critical IV lines and medical tubing. Non-MRI compatible devices remain outside the scan room while connected to the patient and routed through the RF Door Pass Through Wave-guide. IV and medical tubing are routed through the open waveguide then closed to assure RF attenuation. IV Waveguide Video The IV Door Frame Waveguide is an optional feature that can be added to the frame during manufacturing. IV Waveguides cannot be retrofit to a frame after the frame has been manufactured. The culmination of PDC’s Auto, Semi-Auto and RF Door Pass Through Waveguide allow patient transport to be accomplished with minimal medical intervention. Semi-Automatic Video
