Pray Without Ceasing By Sheila Dailie

“Breakthrough Prayer” was a workshop presented in the Dakotas almost three years ago. Reverend Sue Nilson Kibbey presented tools and resources to help churches incorpo-rate prayer in their personal and congregational life. Topics included what prayer is NOT, what prayer is, types of prayer, personal prayer style, prayer walking, prayer chains, and prayer at church during weekdays. Participants were challenged to consider these key questions: What if prayer was the focus of your church? What would that look like? Our discipleship commission is helping each committee identify a “prayer focus” per-son. During November and December, the church library will be a “prayer center” between services on Sunday mornings. There will be a printed prayer guide, and a couple of people that you can pray with, or share your prayers requests.

Through the Bible in a Year By Sheila Dailie

What better way to prepare our hearts for the season of gratitude and thanksgiving than by seeing the power of the Holy Spirit as the church began to form! We will be intro-duced to the letters and theology of Paul as the bridge between Old Testament under-standing and New Testament fulfillment unfolds. As I begin my fifth consecutive journey through the Bible, it continues to unfold new truth and light for my path. (Psalm 119:105) “For the word of God is living and power-ful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” Hebrews 4:12 Join in reading the Bible, the words that lead us to the very heart of God, for a few minutes each day. Most days we read four to five pages. If you are on Facebook, ask to join our group by contacting Sheila Dailie.

Communion Servers

We are creating the list of servers for 2018 for Holy Commun-ion for both services. If you are interested in serving, please call Ste-ve or Brenda Nomeland at 320-219-3038.

90 Day Tithing Challenge

Just a reminder to prayerfully consider

Challenge. If God doesn’t hold true to His prom-

ises of blessings when you take the 90 Day Chal-

lenge, Central UMC will refund 100% of your

tithe. No questions asked. The sign-up sheets are

located in the pew offering envelope slots and

in the Church Office. For more information, con-

tact Adam Koplin or Jason Kettwig.

You can elect to have a withdrawal done on the 1st or the 15th of each month. The sign-up forms can be found in the Church Office and periodically in the bulletins. Ebola Research

On October 19th

the New York Times carried an article about the Ebola re-search being done at the Gess UMC Eye Hospital in Sierra Leone by the team from Emory University in Atlanta. This team has been there with us on several occasions over the past two years. Roger constructed a temporary “safe surgery” area for them in which to conduct the research and it was so rewarding to be there as the work related in this article took place. Denise Grady, a reporter for the Times along with a professional photographer spent five days with us as they worked on this story. People may wish to read it and especially view the pictures which accompa-ny the article.
