Technical Editing - Sound• The drama uses non-diegetic sound

at the very beginning of the drama. A very upbeat song is used as the female character is walking, maybe to introduce the setting.

• The drama also uses a regional accent to add to the realism of the drama, which then provides you with information on the location of which they are at.

Technical Editing – Mise en scene• The drama uses high-key lighting to set the scene

and location of the drama, but soon turns to low-key lighting, maybe foreshadowing that something bad is going to happen.

• The drama has purposely picked out those outfits for the characters to contribute to the realism of the drama, but to also set the era of the drama, so from the outfits that they are wearing we can guess that is set around the 60’s.

• Also the outfit of Ian Brady, is much more of a higher standard than the rest of the characters which shows he is of a higher class.

Page 7: See No Evil - The Moors Murders

Technical Editing - Camera• The drama begins with an establishing shot to set

the scene and location of the drama.• The drama regularly uses close ups of each of characters so the audience can get a clear understanding of how the characters are feeling.• A high shot is used when Ian and Maxine are looking down at Dave, suggesting that they, particularly Ian, has more power than Dave and maybe that something is going to happen between them.
