Introducing Deb Walter MA (+30) from the University of Arkansas, National Board Certified Teacher, & Adventure Physical Education Specialist

Teaching Physical Education specializing in adventure fitness and recreation for 14 years. Areas of expertise include Project Adventure, geo caching, fishing, archery, connecting academics in the gym, and utilizing advanced technology in PE including smart phones, I-pads, and video assessment. 9 years in (ALE) alternative education setting with at-risk youth and developed a unique outdoor adventure program that attracted the attention of both her students and her peers. Honored by NASPE as the National High School Physical Education Teacher of the Year in 2007, sponsored by Sportime. Debs energy is contagious and her passion for quality PE programming is evident with others. Presented at over 58 conventions at the National, District, and State level.Successful grant writer and has secured over 45 grants and community donations totaling over $100,000 for her students and school district.

As students get older in middle school or high school parents seldom are asked to volunteer to help out at the schools

Pick up the phone, text kids/parents, drop an email, write a letter, introduce yourself at the game, work the car line, parent conferences, or front office in the morningsIf you land a great contactWrite a thank you note immediately!!!

Even better is have your students write the thank you notes in class. Personal hand notes are best!
