Purpose
This is a step-by-step guide for upgrading to the current version of SecureGuard® All-In-One. If you’re installing SecureGuard® All-In- One for the first time, please refer to SecureGuard® All-In-One - Quick Install Guide, which is available for download on our website at www.specotech.com.
Downloading Update
Overview: As of Verison 2.2, there are two methods to upgrade your installation; Through SecureGuard® or Speco Technologies’ website. It is recommended that you back up your database before upgrading. For more information, please refer to the Database Configuration chapter in the SecureGuard® Technical Manual.
SecureGuard® Version 2.2 or higher
Note: In order to upgrade through SecureGuard®, your computer will need Internet access.
1. If you configured SecureGuard® to check for updates on a daily basis, the upgrade file will be downloaded automatically and await installation. To start installation, click “Install Update”. See Image 1. Please proceed to Step 3.

2. If you did not set a schedule for update checks, click “Check Now”. Doing so will have SecureGuard® check for updates and download them if available. When the download is complete, the installation process will begin.
3. Before the installation, you will be informed that all SecureGuard®
applications will need to close and if you would like to proceed. Click “Yes”. See Image 2.

Speco Technologies website:
1. Download the latest copy of SecureGuard® All-In-One from Speco Technologies’ website.
http://www.specotech.com
2. The product is delivered in a self-extracting executable. Simply run the executable to install the program. In most cases, it is highly recommended to use the defaults provided for where to install the product and which components to install.
Installation
1. A license agreement will be presented. To continue with the installation, click “I Agree”.
2. Next, uncheck the components you don’t wish to install. This option is limited to the following components:
• SecureGuard® Streaming Audio App • SecureGuard® IP Scanner • Restart Server on Error • Configure Windows Firewall • Start Menu Shortcuts • Desktop Icon • Run SecureGuard® Client after install • Close Installer after install

Components deemed necessary for the operation of SecureGuard® All-In-One cannot be unchecked. Click on “Next” to proceed.
3. Select the destination folder where SecureGuard® All-In-One will be installed by clicking on “Browse…”, or use the suggested destination folder which SecureGuard® All-In-One will create. Click on “Install” to proceed.
4. Part of the installation involves configuring SecureGuard®. A notification window will pop up before this process begins. Click on “OK” to continue.
5. You may be notified that your database has been updated to a newer version. It is recommended that you run a database validation to make sure nothing has been corrupted. Click “OK” to continue.
Post Upgrade
1. After the upgrade installation, it is recommended that you perform a database validation as instructed in the installation chapter.

2. To validate the database, you will need to manually stop SecureGuard®. To do this, you will need to go to the System tab and click “Stop”. See Image 3.

3. Go back to the Database tab and click “Validate” to start the process.
The duration of the validation process will depend on how much data there is to be analyzed. See Image 4.

4. If the validation passed, a message will pop up confirming this outcome.
Click “OK” to exit the window. See Image 5.

5. If any errors have been found during the validation process, a window will pop up informing you of the situation and ask if you would like to try to fix these errors. Click “Yes” to try to fix these issues. If the issues cannot be fixed, please contact our tech support team for further troubleshooting. See Image 6.

6. Continue to confirm that your sites, schedules, users, and other settings have been transferred to your new version of SecureGuard® and close the Configuration Tool.

Startup
1. After closing the SecureGuard® Configuration Tool, the SecureGuard®
Client login window should appear. If not, double click on the SecureGuard® Client desktop icon to run the SecureGuard® Client. Enter your user credentials (if you’re still using the default login, enter admin for the Login ID and admin for the Password), and then click on “OK”. See Image 7.
