• Energy Cities is the European Association of local authorities in energy transition
• Created in 1990.• More than 1.000 towns and cities
from 30 countries• Niš from 2005.• Leading Covenant of Mayors
Energy Cities• A chance to learn from the
most active cities• One of the most active
among the most active ones is Växjӧ
• In 2012. launched proposals for the energy transition of European cities and towns.
• Based on innovative approaches, new ideas and groundbreaking practices.
• They provide practical answers and link today’s action to the long-term vision of a low energy city with a high quality of life for all.

• Energy transition roadmap will be prepared by using inspiration from:– SEAP of the city of Niš,– Växjö’s experience in sustainable
energy development,– Environmental Program of Växjö,– Energy Program of Växjö,– Energy Cities 30 proposals for
energy transition.

About the SD Train Project• Develop training programme for capacity building of the staff of public
authorities in sustainable infrastructure, energy efficiency and good governance at partner Universities in BiH, Montenegro and Serbia
• Improve capacities of partner Universities in providing training in sustainable public infrastructure through retraining of the key teachers at EU universities
• Develop a web-based toolkit as an interactive learning environment for training of public authorities
• Pilot training programme in cooperation with EU teachers• Develop recommendations for capacity building of public authorities in
sustainable infrastructure and securing continuous update of their knowledge, skills and competencies
• Ensure continuity of the training Programme and the web toolkit beyond Tempus Programme funding
