Day 1 (D) HOME PORTS, LAUNCESTON

Fly from home ports to Launceston where our Seniors Coach awaits our arrival into this charming city. A short town tour before arriving at the famous Cataract Gorge. Time to enjoy the rugged cliffs of the gorge, with the opportunity to ride the world’s longest single-span chairlift, amazing views! Our home tonight, the Best Western Plus Launceston. Enjoy a welcome drink on us, prior to dinner together.

Day 2 (B,L,D) ROSS, BICHENO

Today we travel south to Ross, a beautifully preserved Georgian village with many ornate convict built stone buildings. A town tour and visit to the Tasmanian Wool Centre, offering fine wool products and museum. Lunch here today. During the afternoon we continue to the seaside town of Bicheno on the East Coast. Visit East Coast Natureworld, set amongst 150 acres of natural parklands and lagoons and featuring many of Tasmania’s unique wildlife. Our home tonight, the Beachfront at Bicheno.

Day 3 (B,L,D) FREYCINET NATIONAL PARK, SWANSEA, RICHMOND, HOBART

We make the short journey south to Coles Bay this morning, gateway to the magnificent Freycinet Peninsula, Tasmania’s oldest National Park. Visit the Freycinet Visitor Centre before travelling to Cape Tourville lookout. Stroll to the Lighthouse for marvellous views of the Freycinet Peninsula, the edges of Wineglass Bay and the imposing Hazard Mountains. Lunch today at Swansea Bark Mill Museum and Tavern. Later explore the historic colonial village of Richmond prior to arriving in Hobart and our home for three nights, the Balmoral Motor Inn.

Day 4 (B,L,D) SALAMANCA MARKET, HUON TRAIL, TAHUNE FOREST AIR WALK

This morning for the “market lovers” we visit Hobart’s famous Salamanca outdoor market with more than 300 stalls selling fresh and gourmet produce, arts and crafts. We follow the Huon Trail to the quaint Huon Valley Visitor Centre. Later we arrive at the amazing Tahune Forest Air Walk. Stroll the Huon Pine Walk before enjoying lunch in the café. During the afternoon experience the spectacular treetop walk, with breathtaking views of the forest canopy, up to 37 metres above the forest floor. On our return we visit the Geeveston Forest and Heritage Centre.

Day 5 (B,D) TASMAN PENINSULA, HISTORIC PORT ARTHUR, WREST POINT CASINO

Today we travel the Tasman Peninsula stopping to view the striking rock formations of the Tasman Arch and Devils Kitchen at Eaglehawk Neck, before arriving at the historic site of Port Arthur. Time to purchase lunch here and the afternoon is yours to explore the ruins of this infamous convict prison, stroll the grounds and enjoy a short cruise to Mason Cove. A picturesque setting with a tragic past. This evening dinner is at the famous Wrest Point Casino and a little time to try your luck! Enjoy the city lights as we return to our hotel.

Day 6 (B,D) DERWENT VALLEY, LAKE ST CLAIR, STRAHAN

From Hobart we travel through the picturesque Derwent Valley stopping for a morning cuppa before arriving at Derwent Bridge. Visit the Wall in the Wilderness Gallery, an amazing story told in wooden sculpture. Time to purchase lunch at the Derwent Bridge Hotel. During the afternoon we visit Lake St Clair, the deepest natural glacial lake in the southern hemisphere, then continue to the harbour side village of Strahan. Our home for two nights is the Strahan Village Motel.

Day 7 (B,L,D) GORDON RIVER CRUISE, THE SHIP THAT NEVER WAS

A highlight today as we board our cruise vessel MV Lady Jane Franklin II for a magnificent cruise across Macquarie Harbour viewing Hell’s Gate harbour entrance, commercial salmon farms and the amazing Gordon River. Sense the past with a rainforest walk through ancient forests (see a 2,000 year old tree) and visit Sarah Island, a notorious convict settlement. On return to Strahan enjoy a stroll along the waterfront, visit the craft shops, cafes and the Huon Pine Mill. Prior to dinner at our hotel, enjoy the humorous live play “The Ship That Never Was”, based on a true story of the Great Escape from Sarah Island. A memorable day!

Day 8 (B,L,D) STRAHAN, CRADLE MOUNTAIN, SMITHTON

An early start as we travel via Tullah to the picturesque Cradle Mountain National Park. Visit the Information Centre prior to our journey into beautiful Dove Lake. Enjoy a short walk along part of the shore of this pristine mountain lake. “Clouds permitting”, view the famous cradle from which the mountain surrounding the lake gained its name. Lunch today at the Cradle Mountain Hotel. In the afternoon we travel to the northern coastline and then Smithton. Spectacular scenery as we travel! Home for two nights is the Tall Timbers Hotel.

Day 9 (B,L,D) DISMAL SWAMP TARKINE FOREST, STANLEY

We journey into the magnificent heritage listed Tarkine Forest to visit Dismal Swamp, believed to be the only Blackwood sinkhole in the world and formed over thousands of years. Take the slide to the bottom (if you dare!) or walk the pathway. Time here to discover this ancient environment and its unique forest habitats. Lunch at the historic Stanley Hotel. During the afternoon we ride the chairlift to the top of “The Nut”, a huge volcanic plug perched on a headland. Simply spectacular views!

Day 10 (B,L) TABLE CAPE, BURNIE, LAUNCESTON

An early start as we return to Launceston this morning via Table Cape for amazing views, with a morning cuppa in the coastal town of Burnie. We arrive at the beautiful property of Tasmanian Gourmet Sauce Co. which is home to some of Tasmania’s finest sauces and preserves. A short tour of the enchanting topiary nursery and Ericvale Gardens before our gourmet BBQ lunch in this delightful setting, a fitting way to end our tour! During the afternoon we transfer to Launceston airport to join homebound flights.

Afternoon tea here before we continue to the coastal town of Wynyard and our home tonight, The Waterfront Motel, Wynyard.

Day 2 (B,L,D) STANLEY, QUEENSTOWN, STRAHAN

This morning we stop at Table Cape for amazing views before arriving at the historic coastal town of Stanley. Lunch here at the Stanley Hotel. Ride the Nut chairlift, more amazing views! We pass through Tullah and Queenstown, known for its “lunar like” stark surrounding hills before arriving in the delightful harbour side village of Strahan for two nights at the Strahan Village Motel.

As we travel to Hobart we view Lake St Clair, the deepest natural glacial lake in the southern hemisphere. Lunch at the Derwent Bridge Hotel. Visit “Wall in the Wilderness” Gallery, an amazing story told in large wooden sculptures. We continue to the beautiful ‘wide angle’ Russell Falls in Mt Field National Park. Arriving into Hobart, our home for two nights is Balmoral Motor Inn.

Day 5 (B,L,D) SALAMANCA MARKET, CASCADE BREWERY, ROYAL BOTANICAL GARDENS or MONA

For the “market lovers” we visit Hobart’s Salamanca huge outdoor market this morning, with more than 300 stalls selling fresh and gourmet produce, arts and crafts. Later in the morning we visit Cascade Brewery, join the Heritage walking tour of the grounds, hear about the interesting characters that graced its presence. Our tour concludes with tastings and lunch in the Cascade Café. During the afternoon we enjoy harbour views (weather permitting) from the Signal Station at Mt Nelson and then a visit to the Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens. As an alternative, you may wish to visit Museum of Old & New Art (MONA) home to modern and contemporary art. Following dinner, try your luck at Wrest Point Casino, enjoying the city lights as we travel.

Day 6 (B,D) RICHMOND, BICHENO

We travel to the historic village of Richmond, enjoy a self guided tour of the Richmond Gaol. Browse among many period buildings and shops. Time here to purchase lunch. During the afternoon visit Swansea Bark Mill Museum. We continue to Bicheno on the east coast and our overnight home, the Beachfront at Bicheno.

Day 7 (B,L,D) BICHENO, ST HELENS, DERBY, LAUNCESTON

This morning visit East Coast Natureworld, set amongst 150 acres of natural parklands and lagoons and featuring many of Tasmania’s unique wildlife. Lunch today at St Helens before we continue to Derby and visit The Tin Dragon Interpretation Centre. Later we arrive at the Best Western Plus Launceston, our overnight home. Enjoy a farewell drink and then dinner together at the hotel.

Day 8 (B,L) CATARACT GORGE, LAUNCESTON, HOME PORTS

This morning we view the stunning vertical cliffs as we cruise into the Cataract Gorge, followed by a walk into the gorge. You may wish to ride on the world’s longest single span chairlift or walk across the historic bridge. Lunch today at Victoria’s Café in the beautiful Albert Hall heritage building. Following lunch we transfer to Launceston airport, completing a short and most enjoyable tour of Tasmania.

Following the picturesque Tamar River we arrive at the gold-mining town of Beaconsfield. A guided tour of the heritage buildings and mine exploring the past and present of gold mining. A special display depicts the events of the 2006 Anzac Day rock fall and rescue. Time to purchase lunch here in town before continuing to Beauty Point to visit two unique attractions. At Platypus House watch Tasmanian platypuses and echidnas in daylight conditions in an indoor setting. You will see these amazing egg-laying mammals actively feeding during our guided tour. Then visit Seahorse World a fascinating aquarium dedicated to the breeding, education and conservation of the seahorse and also home to many other amazing sea creatures.

Two superb highlights today as we explore the rugged West Coast of Tasmania. At Queenstown Station we board the West Coast Wilderness Railway for an amazing journey through absolute wilderness areas, deep gullies and picturesque riverbanks. Several stops are made along the way and we enjoy a picnic lunch on board. During the afternoon we return to Strahan for a little free time before joining the MV Lady Jane Franklin II for a magnificent cruise across Macquarie Harbour, viewing Hell’s Gate Harbour entrance before venturing along the Gordon River. We return to Strahan in time for dinner at our hotel. A memorable day!

We continue to Sheffield, the town of murals with time to explore and purchase lunch here. Visit the Ashgrove Cheese Factory, sample some of Tasmania’s finest cheeses, purchase if you wish. Our home tonight is the Best Western Plus Launceston. This evening our farewell dinner is at one of Launceston’s popular restaurants.

Day 12 (B,L) TAMAR RIVER CRUISE, TASMANIAN GOURMET SAUCE CO, LAUNCESTON, HOME PORTS

Our final day starts with a short Tamar River cruise, enjoy the splendour of the majestic Cataract Gorge. Later in the morning arrive at the Tasmanian Gourmet Sauce Co, a beautiful property, home to some of Tasmania’s finest sauces and preserves. A short garden tour of the topiary nursery and Ericvale Gardens before our gourmet BBQ lunch in this delightful setting, a fitting way to end our tour. Day 1 (D) HOME PORTS, HOBART

Fly from home ports to Hobart where our Seniors Coach awaits our arrival on the Apple Isle. It’s a short journey to Richmond, a “picture perfect” Georgian village. Following afternoon tea here we tour the Hobart Town Historical Model Village, depicting Hobart in the 1820’s. View the oldest bridge in Australia, built of sandstone by convicts also in the 1820’s. We return to Hobart and check into our home for six nights, the centrally located, The Old Woolstore Apartment Hotel. Enjoy a welcome drink on us, prior to dinner together.

Day 2 (B,L,D) FAMOUS NATIONAL PARKS

Much of Tasmania is National Park, and today we visit two of these inspiring locations. From Hobart we travel to the Franklin Gordon Wild Rivers NP to the tiny settlement of Strathgordon and the Gordon River Dam, a spectacular hydro electricity scheme. The massive wall, completed in 1974, is the largest in Tasmania, 140 metres high and almost 200 metres in width, the largest water storage in Australia and holding back more than 30 times the contents of Sydney Harbour. Time to stroll across the wall, enjoy the spectacular views. During the afternoon on the return journey we visit Mt Field NP and enjoy a gently sloped walk along a fern lined track to Russell Falls, a well known Tasmanian attraction.

Day 3 (B,L,D) SALAMANCA MARKET, HUON VALLEY, TAHUNE FOREST AIR WALK, MT NELSON

This morning for the “market lovers” we visit Hobart’s famous Salamanca outdoor market with more than 300 stalls selling fresh and gourmet produce, arts, crafts and handiworks. Mid morning we follow the Huon Trail to the quaint Huon Valley Visitor Centre. Later we arrive at the amazing Tahune Forest Air Walk. Stroll the Huon Pine Walk before enjoying lunch in the Air Walk Café. During the afternoon experience the spectacular treetop walk, with breathtaking views of the forest canopy, up to 37 metres above the forest floor. On our return we visit the Geeveston Forest and Heritage Centre.

Day 5 (B,D) HOBART, BONORONG WILDLIFE PARK

A leisurely day with the morning free to explore the city of Hobart, browse in the central shopping area, visit Cat and Fiddle Square, the Tasmanian Museum Art Gallery or stroll along Constitution Dock. Time to purchase lunch in town. This afternoon we follow the Derwent River and the lush forest of the Brighton Valley to Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary. See many native species, including the famous Tasmanian Devil. Time to stroll in the park and enjoy its many exhibits. Afternoon tea here prior to our return to Hobart.

Day 6 (B,L,D) HOBART, MT WELLINGTON

Hobart penal history is an integral part of the earliest days of the settlement, and this morning we explore a small part of this heritage following a visit to Mawson’s Hut, a replica museum depicting the hut which was the base of the 1911–14 Antarctic expedition. Mid morning we visit Mt Wellington to enjoy stunning views from the often snow capped mountain which forms the backdrop to the city (weather permitting). Lunch today at Cascade Brewery, operational since 1824, walk the historic gardens. This afternoon enjoy a stroll through the Royal Botanical Gardens, view the convict built heating walls and the sub Antarctic plant house. Alternately you may choose to visit the interesting and somewhat controversial Museum of Old and Modern Art (MONA) which presents antiquities, modern and contemporary art.

Day 7 (B,L) HOBART, CAMPBELLTOWN, LAUNCESTON, HOME PORTS

Departing Hobart we join the Midland Highway and travel north, morning tea on route at Campbell Town. We continue to Launceston and the Tasmanian Gourmet Sauce Co, a beautiful property, home to some of Tasmania’s finest sauces and preserves. A short garden tour of the topiary nursery and Ericvale Gardens before our gourmet BBQ lunch in this delightful setting, a fitting way to end our tour. Today we travel south to Ross, a beautifully preserved Georgian village with many ornate convict built stone buildings. A town tour before visiting the interesting Tasmanian Wool Centre, offering fine wool products, an exhibition and history museum. Lunch here today. During the afternoon we continue to another historical village, Richmond prior to arriving in Hobart and our home for the next four nights, the Balmoral Motor Inn.

Day 3 (B,L,D) CHRISTMAS DAY

HAPPY CHRISTMAS! A relaxing morning, with time for those who wish to attend local church services. Mid morning we visit Mt Wellington to enjoy stunning views from the often snow capped mountain (even in Summer!) which forms the backdrop to the city (weather permitting). A splendid traditional Christmas lunch with all the trimmings and including drinks follows at the Balmoral. Celebrate Christmas with new found friends! During the afternoon we visit to the Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens. A lighter dinner completes the day’s celebrations.

Day 9 (B,L,D) DISMAL SWAMP TARKINE FOREST, STANLEY, NEW YEARS EVE

We journey into the magnificent heritage listed Tarkine Forest this morning to visit Dismal Swamp, believed to be the only Blackwood sinkhole in the world and formed over thousands of years. Take the slide to the bottom (if you dare!) or walk the pathway. Time here to discover this ancient environment and its unique forest habitats. We then make our way to historic Stanley for lunch. During the afternoon we ride the chairlift to the top of “The Nut”, a huge volcanic plug perched on a headland. Simply spectacular views! This evening join in the New Year’s Eve celebrations, with a well known local entertainer arranged by SCT. Welcome drinks and nibbles provided this evening. Together we farewell 2016 and welcome 2017!

Day 10 (B,D) NEW YEARS DAY, SMITHTON, TABLE CAPE, SHEFFIELD, LAUNCESTON

At Platypus House watch Tasmanian platypuses and echidnas in daylight conditions in an indoor setting. You will see these amazing egg-laying mammals actively feeding during our guided tour. Today we travel south to Ross, a beautifully preserved Georgian village with many ornate convict built stone buildings. During the afternoon we continue to the seaside town of Bicheno on the East Coast. Visit East Coast Natureworld, set amongst 150 acres of natural parklands and lagoons and featuring many of Tasmania’s unique wildlife. Our home for tonight, the Beachfront at Bicheno.

A unique highlight today as we explore the rugged West Coast of Tasmania. At Queenstown Station we board the West Coast Wilderness Railway for an amazing journey through absolute wilderness areas, deep gullies and along picturesque riverbanks travelling to Dubbil Barril station. We disembark at selected points along the journey to further explore the area. Lunch at the Tracks Café is followed by an informative Queenstown Heritage Tour with time to visit the Queenstown Museum before returning to Strahan.

ACCOMMODATION: Wherever possible, ground floor accommo-dation is provided, however, on occasion you may need to manage a full flight of stairs. Please advise the office of any mobility/ disability issues. OFFICE HOURS: Monday to Friday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm (closed public holidays) DEPOSIT & FINAL PAYMENT Deposit: As set out in the brochure is due within 7 days to confirm your booking. Additional deposits may be required to cover non-refundable airfares. Final payment: The balance is normally due 60 days prior to departure (or within 7 days for bookings closer than 60 days to depar-ture). Refer to the relevant booking form for full details. Accepted payment types: Cash, Eftpos, Direct Deposit, MasterCard, Visa or cheques made payable to SENIORS COACH TOURS, are all welcome. A 1% surcharge is added to payments made by credit cards. BOOKING AMENDMENTS Any amendments made by you, apart from changes to minor personal information, will be subject to a $100 administration fee per change, plus any increase in cost. Please note: even minor name change alterations may incur additional costs. CANCELLATION POLICY Cancellation prior to the final payment is due: All money paid will be refunded, less a $200 per person cancellation fee & less any nonrefundable airfares. Cancellation after final payment is due & received: 30 days & over prior to departure : - 50% retained by SCT Between 29 & 14 days inclusive prior to departure : - 75% retained by SCT Under 14 days prior to departure, nonatten-dance or non-completion of tour : - NIL refund Please note: Where Early Bird saving offers are used, the cancellation policy applies from the Early Bird savings due date for final payments.

LAST MINUTE FARES On occasion, SCT offer last minute fares usually at very short notice. These last minute fares only apply to new bookings received following the offer & are not retrospective. AIRLINE RESCHEDULING Airline schedules are subject to change which may affect joining/departing arrangements & consequently that day’s itinerary. Any additional costs incurred, including overnight accommodation & transfers are at passen-ger’s expense. CONDITIONS OF TRAVEL 1. Seniors Coach Tours makes all arrange-ments for its tours using the services of other providers of accommodation, air & ground transport, meals, attractions, both individuals & companies. In these conditions, all such providers are referred to as “the principal”. 2. The Company acts as agent for all princi-pals & the Company shall not be liable for any loss, delay or damage suffered by a pas-senger or his/her property, in consequence of any act, omission, default or negligence by any principal or any subcontractor of any principal. 3. Neither Seniors Coach Tours, nor any servant or agent shall be liable for any loss, delay or damage suffered by a passenger or his/her property, in consequence of any act, omission, default or negligence of Seniors Coach Tours, its servants or agents. 4. Passengers agree to indemnify Seniors Coach Tours, its servants or agents against any claim, demand or judgment or damage made or awarded for all actions arising from items 1 to 3 above. 5. The tour proposals set out in the most recent Seniors Coach Tours brochure & the passenger’s acceptance by completion of a booking form creates an agreement between Seniors Coach Tours & the passenger subject to the law of the State of Victoria. Comple-tion of the booking form, together with the passenger’s signature, verifies acceptance of these terms & conditions. 6. Seniors Coach Tours (& its principals) reserves the right to alter any published itinerary if Seniors Coach Tours believes such alteration is in the best interests of passenger safety, well-being or enjoyment. 7. Seniors Coach Tours & its contract oper-ators accept no responsibility for delays or financial losses caused by the inability of any other operator used in this holiday to provide services described in this brochure due to cessation of business, bankruptcy or any other reason. 8. Seniors Coach Tours reserves the right to substitute vehicles of a lesser standard should this be unavoidable due to mechanical fail-ure, delay or any other genuine reason.

9. Seniors Coach Tours accepts no responsi-bility for the behaviour of any employee, rep-resentative or agent of any motel, attraction, café, restaurant or similar venue associated with this tour or for events arising from such behaviour. 10. Special dietary requirements are request-ed from accommodation & meal providers, however Seniors Coach Tours cannot guaran-tee that requests will always be met. 11. Seat Rotation, for the enjoyment of all passengers, there is a daily seat rotation in which all passengers must participate. 12. The maximum weight per piece of lug-gage on most tours is 20kg, one case per person. Overweight luggage may not be carried. For persons travelling together, two small cases are requested rather than one large case. 13. No passenger will be permitted to com-mence or continue this tour if, in the opinion of Seniors Coach Tours or its agents, their physical or mental condition makes them un-able to care for themselves or their behaviour becomes objectionable to other passengers. Seniors Coach Tours will not be responsible for any additional expense incurred should any passenger be required to leave the tour due to the provisions of this clause. 14. Receipts for deposits or final payments from travel agents do not constitute payment to Seniors Coach Tours until such money is received by & available to Seniors Coach Tours. 15. Seniors Coach Tours does not determine the amount (if any) & is not responsible for service fees charged by travel agents or any refund thereof. 16. For departures with less than 20 passen-gers a smaller vehicle with varying features & one person crew may be used. 17. Booking conditions are correct as at 1st May 2016 & are subject to change subse-quent to that date. 18. The Terms & Conditions which apply to your booking are those printed on your booking form. 19. Current Terms & Conditions are available on the Seniors Coach Tours website. 20. Itineraries in this brochure are correct as at 1st May 2016. However, these are subject to change due to various reasons including attraction changes or closures, opening days & time variations, train, ferry & other time-table amendments, changes in accommoda-tion, service & quality due to ownership &/or management changes. 21. Fares shown in this brochure are correct as at 1st May 2016 & SCT reserves the right to amend fares as circumstances change. Interstate airfares are subject to increase until the relevant deposit has been paid. Fully paid fares are not subject to any increase.
