3. Using your iron, adhere the heavy interfacing to the wrong side of the scrappy cover and the wrong side of the lining fabric.

4. Overlock or zigzag along the bottom edge of the two pockets. Pin the top pocket to the lining piece so that the bottom of the pocket is one inch above the bottom edge of the lining. Stitch in place.

5. Position the lower pocket along the bottom edge of the lining and stitch in place. Using dressmakers chalk, draw a line that runs down the centre of the lining, so the pockets are divided into two halves. Stitch along the line three times to form the pockets for the loy-alty cards.

6. Position the hair elastic on the right side of the lining in line with the top edge of the lower pocket, and stitch in place. (Refer to pic-ture below).

7. Pin the wallet cover to the lining with the right sides facing, and stitch around the perimeter using a ¼inch seam allowance. Leave a 3 inch opening along the bottom edge. Clip the corners and turn right side out through the opening. Use a chopstick or turning tool.

8. Press the wallet using steam and spray starch to get a nice crisp finish. Pin the opening closed. Sew around the perimeter of the wal-let (enclosing the opening as you go) using ⅛inch seam allowance.
