The biggest advantage of a string loop style release is that you can load it onto your string loop without having to look. This no-look loading is faster and means less movement in the tree. SCOTT™ string loop releases are auto-cocking and ultra compact and produce very minimal string wear.

Tournament archers and many hunters prefer hand-held releases because they are designed to shoot using your back muscles. They also provide for more consistent anchoring. There are two styles of hand-held releases – back tension, which SCOTT has offered since 2002, and thumb button which is a triggered hand-held release.
