PROJECT: Supply, installation, testing and commissioning of one (1) unit 750kVA Diesel Generator Set for the South Wing Annex Bldg. and two (2) units 375kVAR, 460V Capacitor Bank (Automatic) for the RVM and South Wing Annex Bldgs. (100% LOAD) 161 liters per hour SPEED & FREQUENCY 60Hz@1800rpm ALTERNATOR MAKE/BRAND STAMFORD/MARATHON/LEROY SOMER/DALE or equivalent US Brand STANDBY RATING 750kVA/600kW VOLTAGE 460V PHASE, POWER FACTOR 3, 0.8 CURRENT (A) 1974/987 GENERAL SCOPE OF WORK The scope of work shall cover one (1) unit 750kVA Diesel Generator Set including Cabling etc. from DG set to Switchgear ATS control panel for the South Wing Annex Bldg., and two (2) units Capacitor Bank (Automatic) with Cabling etc. for the South Wing Annex and RVM Bldgs. The scope covers supply, installation, testing and commissioning of electrical works for the project including the following main systems: 1. DIESEL GENERATOR SET 1.01 SCOPE Design, supply, transportation, assembly, supply and installation at site of 750kVA diesel generator set including the construction of concrete mounting pad, supply and installation of all accessories and controls including control panels, day tanks, starting device, batteries, protection gear, instruments etc. and as contained in detailed specifications. The scope also covers spares which includes filters (oil, water, fuel) belts and lubricants, training and operation for initial period as specified herein. 1.02 DIESEL ENGINE: Water Cooled Electric starting four stroke multi cylinder diesel engine having a minimum of 890 BHP as per schedule 1800 RPM conforming to BS:649/1958 having the following: COOLING SYSTEM - Water Cooled Heat Exchanger Type - Cooling water centrifugal pump - Corrosion resistor - Bypass thermostat EXHAUST SYSTEM - Exhaust gas turbocharger with after cooler - Exhaust manifold - 2 Residential Silencers - Flexible pipe for silencer with flapper/cover

The alternator shall bein SPDP enclosure, brushless, stand-by duty type self excited, self regulated, foot mounted with ball and roller bearings on end shields. The alternator shallconformtoIS:4722/BS:2613andwillbesuitablefortropicalconditions.Classof insulation shall be "F". REF.CONDITIONS AS PER NTP IS:4722-TEMP. : 40C 1.04 BASE FRAME Suitable base Frame of sturdy design made of MS channel with necessary reinforcement and redrilled holes made out of TISCO/ISSCO steel shall be provided with the DG set. 1.05 FUEL TANK Daily service fuel tank of sheet metal of 1200 liters capacity complete with drain valve, air vent, inlet and outlet connection shall be provided for the DG set. Provision of electric motor fuel transfer pump complete with direct on-linecontrol. 1.06 BATTERIES Geltypemaintenancefreebatteries24volts,180AHindryandunchargedcondition with leads shall be supplied with the DG set. BATTERY CHARGER: Battery charger static type complete with the following items: -Transformer of adequate rating -Rectifier -DC Ammeter -DC Voltmeter -Charge rate selector switch -Indication lamps TESTING The following test shall be conducted on alternator and DG set. 1. Factory Test The factory test certification shall incorporate the following: i) Routine tests ii) High voltage test iii) Short circuit current test iv) Instantaneous short-circuit withstand test v) Insulation resistancetest. vi) Full Load TestThese tests shall be conducted as per the requirements of BS 2613 or IS 4222 and the original test certificates shall be furnished. 2. Site tests After the installation, wiring and earthing of DG set, the following tests shall be conducted. i) Insulation resistance of the generator. ii) Speed, no load voltage and full load voltage regulation. iii) Frequency at no load, half load and full load. iv)Fullloadtestfor4(four)Hrs.atratedvoltage, speedandfrequencyincludingfuelfor testing. The readings shall be observed with calibrated meters. Only one meter shall be used for the test, the readings shall be properly tabulated and submitted in triplicate. 3. Testing of controls Allthe safetycontrolsandprotectivedevicesoftheDGsetshallbetestedforcorrect calibration and operation. The results of the tests shall be tabulated and submitted in triplicate. Tests and operations shall be performed in the presence of the authorized representatives of the HOUSE Engineering Service. TheContractor shall furnish all the necessary instruments and the personnel required for all the tests at his expense. Afterconduct of all necessary tests, and all systemoperations are approved, the Contractor shall submit to the HOUSE Engineering Service as-built plans of all works completed within the contracted project. Safety Equipments : Two 24 Kgs foamtype fire extinguisher and 2 units Fire buckets filled with dry sand shall be provided. Thecost of thethese items is deemed included in the cost of DG Set. 2. The contractor must provide a service unit of at least 40Kva., 240Vac, 3P, 60Hz., to be used as back-up unit during the 3rd Asean Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) Caucus to be held at the Belmonte Hall of the South Annex Building, House of Representatives on May 31, 2011 to J une 3, 2011. Coverage:2 Days= 12 Hrs / day (8AM 8:00PM) Note:Fuels and wires to beprovided by the HREP DURATION: The works shall be completed within 120 calendar days. GUARANTEE The contractor shall guarantee that the electrical/mechanical systemare free fromall defective workmanship and materials and will remain so for a period of one(1) year fromdate of acceptance of work. The contractor, at his own expense , shall remedy any defects appearing within the aforesaid period. The contractor shall indemnify and save harmless the House of Representatives and the Engineersfromandagainst allliabilities for damages arising frominjuries or disabilities to persons or damage to property occasioned by any act or omission of the contractor including anyandallexpenseslegalorotherwise,whichmaybeincurredbytheHouseof Representatives, or the Engineers, in the defense of any claim, action or suit .
