SCIENTIFIC TOPICS

The workshop welcomes contributions on a wide range of topics related withthe study of isotopes (radioisotopes, stable isotopes and non-traditionalstable isotopes) in:

- Hydrology and Geochemistry,- Geology, Earth Science and Paleoclimatology,- Environmental Science, Ecology and ,- Biochemistry,- Archeology,- General Interest Applications: Food Science, Forensic, Material

Science, Medicine,- Methodological and Instrumental Developments.

Talks of invited speakers, presenting state-of-the-art in selected areas ofisotope research, are envisaged. Also, isotope equipments manufacturerswill have the opportunity to present their latest developments.

CERTIFICATE OF ATTENDANCE

We encourage the submission of oral and poster contributions in the specifiedscientific areas. The organizing committee, in consultation with the ESIRAdvisory Board, will invite plenary talks and select contributions for thescientific sessions.

The (DN67C),located in the Southern Carpathians -Parang Mountains, is the highestmountain pass in Romania; anelevated passage filled with twists,turns, stunning cliffsides, and gloriousmountainous views. It is consideredthe most beautiful highway in Europe.One theory states that the road wascreated by the Romans as a way ofmoving to and from Sarmizegetusa,the main city of the Roman empire inRomania, which is still home to manyruins and is an important archaeo-logical site. The alternative idea aboutthe construction of the Transalpina isthat it came about during the reign ofCarol II, hence the nickname of

The is a splendidnatural monument situated in theGetic Depression of Oltenia, Baia deFier village, Gorj County. Crossingthe limestone, Râul Galbenul (theYellow River) has digged on the rightside of the Galbenul Gorges themost visited speleological objectivefrom Romania. The galleries, resultedafter the Karstification of thelimestone due to the infiltration ofthe water of the river, are about 3600m and are disposed in 4 levels. Thelower level is divided in two sectors:from North (1500 m) and theSouth (880 m) with a scientificimportance, being a speleologicalreservation and inaccessible fortourists.
