LATIONAL RESEARCH FACULTY

Under a multi-year plan of growth and expansion, SUNY Upstate Medical University is committed to hiring

the best talent to contribute to translational research programs toward its goal of NCI-designation of its

Upstate Cancer Center. SUNY Upstate, located in Syracuse, NY, is the only academic medical center and largest employer in Central New York.

The Upstate Health System serves a 17-county region and includes the Upstate University Hospitals, the region’s only children's Hospital, and many

affiliated sites. The Upstate Cancer Center opened in 2014 and provides patients with outstanding multidisciplinary care and clinical trial options.

The educational mission of the University is supported by its colleges of Medicine, Nursing, Health Professions, and Graduate Studies. The campus’

newest facilities include a dedicated Neuroscience Research building and a biotech accelerator. State-of-the-art facilities and services include:

a Molecular Analysis Core for next generation sequencing; high-end microscopy cores; flow cytometry; proteomics; tissue procurement and

biorepository services; and animal services, including small animal irradiation and imaging. Major research programs at the Upstate Cancer

Center include: Tumor Microenvironment and Invasion; Developmental Cancer Therapeutics and Drug Screening; Translational Program

in Urological Cancers; Translational Program In Hematological Malignancies; and Translational Program In Lifetime Survivorship.

SUNY Upstate is located in Syracuse, NY, a diverse and affordable metropolitan area with easy access to vacation areas and within driving distance

to major population centers on the East Coast. The campus is on the dynamic “University Hill” adjacent to Syracuse University, the SUNY College of

Environmental Science and Forestry, and the Syracuse VA Medical Center. Details of the programs, including mission and programmatic focus,

can be found at www.upstate.edu/cancer/research
