SCIENCE PORTAL What’s up in Lab?

Alexey Karpov|Alexey Kolbasov | 2016

WHY WE STAND HERE

The problems are solved, not by

giving new information, but by

arranging what we have known

since long.

― Ludwig Wittgenstein

WHAT’S GOING ON?

• There are1000 universities, 4,7 mln students, 256k professors in Russia and

everyone does research activity and works in laboratory. There are 35

medical universities and every university has a medical department. But

how do you know what’s going on there, if there is no one database of

laboratories, experiments and studies in Russia.

• If you try to get info about it, it is likely that your inquiry will be denied.

And it happens because of the fact that the results of tests and

experiments often use in someone else’s research and dissertations.

• Russian young scientists often reinvent the bicycle over and over again,

walking a long way, exploring what is already known. We are sure many

studies have been made before, but have not been published due to various

reasons.

TARGET

• Gather together in one place the laboratories, research and

experiments that were held in Russian medical sphere.

• Consolidate scientists on the basis of common interests and provide

an opportunity to connect to the different stages of the research

process

• Provide information to the scientific community for free

• Protect the confidentiality of information provided

PORTAL TASKS

• Publication of studies, tests and experiments to facilitate the access

to the results and make labs open.

• Collect in one portal all Young Scientists Councils from medical schools

• Enhance inter-university cooperation

• Implementation of crowdfunding technologies for new experiments

• Implementation of TAG system to search for colleagues, curators,

opinion Leaders and similar experiments

STAGES

1. Universities, Medical institutions, Labs Database

2. Contact information from young scientists organizations

3. Tests and Experiments Database held in medical universities and

laboratories

NB The placement of research results is equivalent to the publication

1. Hot pack of a boring text

2. Mobile&Web Science Portal creation and launch

3. Crowdfunding and Networking

4. Engaging the business community to the dialogue and support

CURRENT STATUS OF THE PROJECT

☑ Compiled database of the Young Scientists Councils, medical and

chemical universities and schools, healthcare institutions

☑ Established contacts with scientists, lab chairs, university management

☑ Website portal structure on paper

☑ Team includes the specialists with medical, pharmaceutical, technical

education and background

☑ Successful experiment of inter-university cooperation in conducting

parallel experiment

EXPECTATIONS

• The portal will facilitate the carrying out of scientific and research

activities, improve the quality of the experiments, will allow young

scientists to gain more practical skills , avoid repetition of failed

experiments .

• It will be possible to connect to the different stages of the research, to
