Our Haverford College residential staff wants you to have the most fulfilling summer possible. They keep things in check while coordinating evening activities and weekend trips that ensure maximum fun. In short, our counselors are responsible, but cool, too.
Evening activities are JKCP highlights, a fun time to socialize with your new friends. Counselors plan engaging events for you to enjoy every single night of the week. Our coding intensive is the summer hub for honing your programming skills. Prepare to be amazed at what you can accomplish in only two weeks! You’ll not only take your coding skills to the next level; you’ll also get a unique glimpse into the technology industry and potential careers.
Spend the first week of our coding academy learning all of the concepts surrounding application development. Practice using HTMl, CSS and JavaScript to build websites and apps. Modeled after the University of Pennsylvania’s undergraduate program, Penn’s summer architecture intensive introduces students to key design tools as well as disciplinary fundamentals — all against the backdrop of Philadelphia’s vibrant architectural landscape.
Alongside Penn faculty and peers, you’ll experiment with 2D and 3D techniques, explore freehand and technical drawing, and build models using various applications and materials. Work with digital methods and software including laser cutting and 3D printing to create your own design portfolio.

The Management & Technology Summer Institute (M&TSI) is a college credit program at the University of Pennsylvania, available to junior and senior high school students interested in the integration of technological concepts and management principles.
Sponsored by The Jerome Fisher Program in Management & Technology, the School of Engineering and Applied Science, and the Wharton School, M&TSI explores engineering and business disciplines to encourage the technology-driven leaders of the future. Through technological prototype development and complex problem solving, students gain the fundamental skills and knowledge needed to successfully integrate technology and business concepts.

The hit movie Moneyball opened audiences’ eyes to the world of sports statistics. The Wharton Moneyball Academy lets students delve deeper into this fascinating realm, showing them how to turn simple data into deep discoveries that defy conventional wisdom. Hosted by the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and the Wharton Sports business Initiative (WSbI), the Moneyball Academy welcomes talented high school juniors and seniors intrigued by statistics.
Moneyball is taught by Wharton faculty and graduate students. The program covers much of Wharton’s Statistics 101 course as well as many of its advanced level statistical courses. As you learn to read and write code in R (the powerful statistical programming language) and develop your key data analysis skills, you will be primed to be a leader in an increasingly data-driven economy.

The Wharton Sports Business Academy encourages leadership development through collaborative teamwork. Teams tackle case studies and create business plans for a new sports-focused business — all under the leadership of Penn’s finest.
