END OF YEAR>>> The school year is closing down fast with lots still happening around the place. Staff are gathering up achievement information and doing final testing before writing school reports. School Concert - The Playhouse

Wow! What a week last week was, with all the trips back and forth to the Playhouse

with practice and performances. It was certainly worth it with the children putting on

a series of great shows.

Thank you so much to our families and friends for all being such great audiences as it really lifted the

children’s performances.

Thanks also to all those who helped out with props, costumes, face-painting, supervision and all the

other jobs that go in to getting the shows ready.

It takes a huge amount of class time to get it to a level that can be performed to an audience but it is

such a great way to report back on the children’s oral language, music, dance, singing and drama.

Sunhats Last year due to health and safety concerns over high rates of skin cancer, the Board of Trustees reviewed the school’s “Care in the Sun Policy”. We are all aware of the need for protection from excessive exposure to U.V. rays and the effect a lack of it can have later in life. Many of the hats worn by the children do not give adequate protection. We have decided to use the Cancer Society recommendations to guide our decision. This year the children will be required to wear the Cancer Society recommended hats when playing in the sun. The hats can be any colour. These hats are to be either Wide brimmed hats Bucket or surfie style hat Legionnaire style hat Baseball caps and sun visors are NOT recommended hats as they leave the ears and back of the neck exposed, which are two common areas of skin cancer Children not wearing Cancer Society recommended hats by next Friday the 30th October will be required to play in the shade .
