Dear Colleague,
Project management - the skills, knowledge and ability to execute work on time,
within budget is a fundamental requirement for any thriving business. Successful
project delivery requires high quality people with the right training and organizational
support.
Recognizing the business benefits that could be gained by developing a larger pool
of local, talented project managers for Azerbaijan, BP on behalf of its co-venturers, is
proud to relaunch the School of Project Management (SPM) in Azerbaijan, in
partnership with Baku Higher Oil School and TwentyEighty Strategy Execution
(formerly Stratex). Through this project both private and public sectors in Azerbaijan
will gain access to a globally recognized, comprehensive program, focusing on the
simultaneous goals of improving immediate project management performance. Yet
another very important goal of the project is to increase capacity of local training
institutions in Azerbaijan, and we hope that in the next couple of years local
professionals trained by TwentyEighty Strategy Execution will carry out these
trainings for future generations of managers.
This project is a continuation of our commitment to increase the participation of local
companies in our business activities in Azerbaijan and strengthening their capacity
to compete with international companies within Azerbaijan and beyond. It fits
perfectly with our local content development strategy and also builds upon existing
initiatives such as the Enterprise Development and Training Program, Supplier
Finance Facility, and many others.
We look forward to seeing the program achieve its full potential by creating a larger
network of certified Project Managers in Azerbaijan and celebrate its significant
impact on business profitability through successful delivery of infrastructure and
commercial projects.
