School Matters FROM THE HEADMASTER’S OFFICE

To be, or not to be, that is the question:

Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer

The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune,

Or to take arms against a sea of troubles.

“Hamlet” by William Shakespeare#

One may easily think that we, like Hamlet, are facing a sea of troubles. The way to face a storm is to go with the current, stay calm and look beyond the storm. I believe that we will see calmer waters and life will return to normality; we just have to ride the waves a little longer. I hope you all had time to reflect on our country’s freedom on Monday – a contradictory concept while in lockdown. We now, more than ever, live in times where the divide between the haves and have nots is accentuated, hence appreciate what you have and always remember those in need. To speak or not to speak… also came to mind after the many postponed addresses during the weekend by the Minister of Education, Ms Angie Motshekga. Hang in there! Hopefully by the end of this week we will have clarity on when which learners will be allowed back to school. I believe that we will also follow a staggered approach.
