EXPLORE YOUR MAJORIt’s an open house inside an open house! These sessions will allow you to meet faculty, staff and advisors you’ll see throughout your academic career.

BIOLOGY1-3 PM | 2070 LIFE SCIENCE BUILDINGStop by to meet faculty, talk with students in our programs (Pre-health, Environmental Biology, Botany, Zoology, etc.) and perhaps participate in an experiment. We can also show you around the department (greenhouse, classrooms, Anatomy/Physiology cadaver labs) or answer questions about professions.

CHEMISTRY & BIOCHEMISTRY1-3 PM | 3180 PHYSICAL SCIENCE BUILDINGStudents will be able to take a tour of the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry to see the classrooms, labs, and research facilities. There will also be a chance to talk with Chemistry and Biochemistry majors and faculty from the department.

Join us for a panel discussion covering our 5 areas of expertise which include Athletic Training, Exercise Science, Physical Education, Sport Management, and Recreation Administration. The discussion will be followed by a tour of our facilities, which includes our Human Performance Lab.

LAKEVIEW COLLEGE OF NURSING1-3 PM | 580 W. LINCOLN AVE.

During the showcase students will have the chance to tour our facility, interact with LCN admission reps., and experience some basic nursing skills within our nursing lab.

MILITARY SCIENCE/ROTC1-2 PM | 4307 KLEHM HALL

Students interested in taking the ROTC class will tour our facilities and receive a briefing on the numerous opportunities available through ROTC. The information brief will focus on classroom requirements, career opportunities, extra-curricular opportunities and tuition assistance available.

POLITICAL SCIENCE2-3 PM | 2210 COLEMAN

An opportunity to meet with student representatives to talk about majoring in Political Science at EIU.

SCHOOL OF BUSINESS1-2 PM | 2051 LUMPKIN HALL

Visit Lumpkin Hall to talk with business majors about their EIU experience. From 1-2 pm School of Business Student Ambassadors will provide guided tours of Lumpkin Hall and answer questions from a student perspective.

SCHOOL OF TECHNOLOGY1-3 PM | 1014 KLEHM HALL

Students and their parents will have an opportunity to tour laboratories and meet with faculty members from their programs of interest.

SPECIAL EDUCATION1-3 PM | 1103 BUZZARD HALL

The #1 crisis for educators is special education. Due to shortages there are scholarships and tuition waivers not available to other majors. Faculty will share scholarship and program information and current majors will share their EIU experiences and will answer any questions you have about this EIU program from a student’s perspective.

PUT YOUR PASSIONS TO WORK ARTS & HUMANITIES CAREER EXPLORATION DAY1-5 PM | DOUDNA FINE ARTS CENTER

At the College of Arts & Humanities Career Exploration Day you will be able to speak with upward of thirty alumni who are putting their EIU degrees to work and who are eager to talk to prospective students and majors about how you, too, can get a job with a degree in the Arts and Humanities: ART, COMMUNICATION STUDIES, ENGLISH, FOREIGN LANGUAGES, HISTORY, JOURNALISM, MUSIC, PHILOSOPHY, THEATRE ARTS, AFRICANA STUDIES, FILM STUDIES, LATIN AMERICAN STUDIES, MEDIEVAL STUDIES, RELIGIOUS STUDIES, AND WOMEN’S STUDIES.

We’re also offering special tours of the Doudna facilities for Music, Art, and Theatre; the Journalism studios; and the Tarble Arts Center. See where our students are putting their dreams to work! Tours will begin at 1:30, 2:30, and 4pm.
