INTRODUCTION
Document overview
V831 development board is a demo board specially developed by Shenzhen Sochip Technology Co.,
Ltd. for V831 chip. It is used to show customers an extremely efficient Quad-core mobile application
processor designed to bring impressive performance to your leading-edge mobile device with low
power consumption ,customers can also do pre-software development work on V831 development
board. V831 development board provides many of interfaces, and provides a reference for customer
hardware design, customers only need to add or delete the circuit of V831 development board to
complete the hardware design.

Audio One path MIC input,one path Speaker output。
Network LCD common interface->Ethernet (10~100MHZ), WIFI: WIFI XR819.
Display Common with Ethernet interface, support one path 8bits RGB in series, Max
resolution:320*240.
USB One MICRO USB socket for SW upgrade.
Vedio recording One path MIPI-CSI 2lane, support Max 2688 in width.
Key 2keys, SW1 for ADC function key,SW2 for power ON/OFF key.

3 Inspection& SW Upgrade
3.1 The inspection of PCBA
Function inspection
„ Firstly check whether the external equipment is connected properly, then power on, if the battery is
inserted, the red light will be flash.
„ Check LCD display, speaker and MIC sound quality, BT link, press the relevant key to test all functions
one by one.

4 SW upgrade, use the PhoenixSuit which ALLWINNER special single-machine upgrade tool。
„ Open the Software in Computer as below picture:
„ Click“一键刷机”,the click“浏览”to select the software path.
„ Press and hold the UBOOT key to make sure the V831 development board enters SW upgrade mode,
and then connect the USB cable from Computer to the V831 development board, If the connection
is OK, the software automatically enters the SW upgrade window as below display, and click “YES”
to go ahead the SW download until finish.

Support USB2.0,the USB can be for SW upgrade only, and provide 5VDC to system. If the battery is
connected, it can be used for charging.

The network support IEEE802.3/802.3u standard,10M/100Mbps;the front LEDs is for MAC station
indication (Green light is for link,and yellow light is for 10M/100M)

6 Other Directions for use
6.1 Attentions
V831 development board is mainly used in laboratory. Before use, please read the following points
carefully and abide by the relevant constraints.
„ Before use, make sure the original power adapter DC5V+/-0.25V/1A or lithium battery 3.8V
„ Live working is not allowed in all interfaces or sockets, please turn off the power supply then insert
or pull out.
„ Live working is not allowed in solder any components; please turn off the power supply then solder.
„ Please use this product in normal indoor environment. Temperature: (20 +5) degrees Celsius, relative
temperature: (65 +20%).
„ Place the development board flat on the dry insulation plane and make sure it is far away from heat
source or strong radiation source.
„ Most of circuits of the development board are exposed, please use under the environment of
electrostatic protection when contact PCBA, the operator must wear an electrostatic bracelet and
connect to ground as well.
6.2 Storge
V831 development boards are stored in clean, dry and ventilated rooms with ambient temperatures
range from - 5 to 35 degrees Celsius, avoid Contact with corrosive substances and far away from fires
and heat sources. The shelf life is 12 months, if the product exceeds the shelf life, must be re-inspected
batch by batch, deliver the passed product to the orderer after inspected. For the fail products, shall be
re-submitted for inspection, if they still failed, the orderer decides how to dispose.
6.3 Transport
V831 development board needs to be packed with ESD bag, and then packed with foamed cotton.
Violent vibration, shock or extrusion should be prevented during transportation, and sunshine and rain
should be prevented. It should be suitable for automobiles, trains, ships, airplanes and other common
means of transport.

The product name, model, quantity, manufacturer and date of departure should be marked outside the
packing box, also marked such as "Handle with Care", "Fear of Wet" and "Upward" icon. The marks for
packing, storage and transportation should fulfill the requirements of GB-191-950.
6.5 ROHS
The product comply ROHS requirement.
6.6 Other
Above mentioned can be used as the agreed framework for the performance and inspection rules of
V831 development board between the supplier and the buyer. If there is no new written agreement or
change notice, it can be carried out accordingly.
