PAGE 1

PANEL 1. A tall panel. A city rooftop at night, looking down over a restaurant below. A skylightopens down into the dining room. On the adjacent rooftop, looking down while kneeling is

SAVIOUR/VINCENT. He is dressed in his full costume, save for the face piece, which he holds in

his hands.

CAP/VINCENT

The air is cold up here...colder than I think I remember.

My name is Vincent Drake. I woke up once with a bleeding gash on my head and no memory of the past five years. Now, three years after that, I'm on this rooftop, with pieces of my memory

coming back. Now, I remember saving the world.

I was the Saviour.

PANEL 2. A close up of Vincent, staring wistfully at the face piece in his hands.

CAP/VINCENTI only have flashes left. Bits and pieces of a life long forgotten. But I haven't had time to think

about that. Not yet.

PANEL 3. A shot over Vincent's shoulder, looking down through the skylight.

CAP/VINCENTFour days ago, a young girl named Katherine was kidnapped by her father. They lived across from

me. I'd suspected something was wrong about him for years, but it wasn't until he had beaten hisgirlfriend and hurt his child that I saw he was a meth addict.

PANEL 4. Vincent straps the face piece on.

CAP/VINCENTI failed Katherine and let her father kidnap her. I won't fail her again.

I will find her before its too late.

PAGE 2

PANEL 1. Vincent, arms spread wide, leaps off the building towards the skylight.

CAP/VINCENT

The man who kidnapped Katherine is named Stephen Howzer. I don't know where he is. All Iknow is he's a convict out on parole. Stephen was incarcerated on charges of theft and assault.

He almost killed a police officer. And now he's all but fallen off the grid.

PANEL 2. Vincent continues to freefall downwards.

CAP/VINCENT

But Stephen had a best friend, another convict. Raymond Grail. I recently learned he wasStephen's dealer, but he wasn't arrested for drug related offenses.

Raymond Grail is a pedophile.

PANEL 3. Inside the restaurant, people have noticed Saviour falling, and have taken notice.

People are rising from their seats and running.

CAP/VINCENTGod. A pedophile.

I push the worst of my fears out of my mind as I hit the skylight.

PANEL 1. Vincent drops feet first through the skylight, a table directly underneath him.

PANEL 2. Vincent lands on a table, bending into the fall. The last of the citizens moving out of

the way.

PANEL 3. Vincent rises, in a half crouch, his fists clenched, his body twisted to allow him to

scream angrily.

VINCENT (LOUDLY)RAYMOND GRAIL!!!

PANEL 1. Vincent throws a table out of the way as he makes his way towards two swinging, double doors leading in to the kitchen.

VINCENTShow yourself, Grail!!

PANEL 2. Vincent bursts through the two doors to find himself facing several kitchen employees.Raymond Grail is among them, he is a tall, wiry man with a mess of oily hair, clean shaven.

VINCENT

Where is he?! Where is Raymond Grail?!

PANEL 3. A short, overweight cook with thinning blonde hair points at the tall, wiry man.

COOKUh, that's him.

GRAIL

Dammit!

PANEL 4. Grail turns to run, but Vincent is on him quick as a flash, one arm wrapped around hisneck.

GRAIL

Gahhh!

VINCENTWe need to talk.

PANEL 5. Grail is thrown to the floor and is coughing.

GRAILkaff...my...my throat...

VINCENTLeast of your concerns, Raymond.

PANEL 6. A shot from behind Vincent's back. Vincent is cracking his knuckles.

VINCENT

I'm looking for your friend. Where is Stephen Howzer?

GRAILHell if I know.

PAGE 5

PANEL 1. Vincent punches Grail across the face, blood begins to pour from Grail's nose.

VINCENT

Not the answer I'm looking for. I should warn you, I have no desire to show mercy to a pedophile.

PANEL 2. Vincent grabs Grail by the shirt, pulling him close to him. A short, open flame gas stove

with four burners is in the background.

VINCENTNow tell me where he is, or I'm going to do more than cut off your windpipe for a few seconds.

PANEL 3. A close up of Grail, how is licking blood off his lips.

GRAIL

Screw you, man.

PANEL 4. A close up of Vincent's face, his eyebrows furrowed.

VINCENTNow, now, Raymond.

PANEL 5. A wide panel. Vincent drags Raymond over to the stove.

VINCENT

I have to at least give you some credit, you're making sure I have fun doing this.

PANEL 1. Vincent grabs Grail's head by the mess of thick, oily hair, holding him near the flames.

VINCENT

Where is Stephen Howzer?

GRAIL

Dammit, I told you, I don't...

VINCENTI don't have time to play nice, Raymond.

PANEL 2. Vincent thrusts Grail's head down into the flame on the stove.

GRAIL

AAAAAAAAAAAH!

PANEL 3. Vincent pulls back Grail, his face now red and blistering.

GRAILOhgodohgodohgodohgod

VINCENT

Where is Stephen Howzer?

GRAILI told you man, I don't...

PANEL 4. Vincent thrusts Grail back into the flame, farther in this time.

GRAILNOOOOOOOOO STOP STOP STOP!!

PANEL 1. A shot of the kitchen staff, watching in horror.

VINCENT (O.P.)

WHERE IS STEPHEN HOWZER?!

GRAIL (O.P)

Please stop, I don't know I don't...

PANEL 2. A shot from the dining area. Patrons look terrified.

GRAIL...knOWWWWWWWWW!!!

CAP/VINCENT

It goes like this for thirty minutes.

PANEL 3. Thirty minutes have passed. Grail's face is obscured from the panel, but there is a poolof blood and what appears to be charred flesh. Vincent is walking away.

CAP/VINCENT

He insists he doesn't know anything through thirty minutes and third degree burns to hisforehead, eyes, left hand and right cheek.

I decide to believe him for now.

PANEL 4. Vincent strolls towards the door.

VINCENT

You still have time to change your mind, but mark my words Raymond. If you've done anythingto that girl, you may as well go ahead and open a vein.

Next time, I'll be coming for blood.

PAGE 8

PANEL 1. A shot over Vincent's shoulder. He is back on top of the roof, watching as an ambulancecarries Grail out of the restaurant.

CAP/VINCENTThis isn't who I am, I keep telling myself.

The Saviour isn't this violent, this angry, this cruel. A girl is in danger, and I have to do whateverit takes to make sure she's safe.

PANEL 2. A close up of Vincent's face.

CAP/VINCENT

But somewhere inside me, there's this thing snarling and writhing, and its telling me that Ienjoyed that. Not just because I got to torture someone as evil as him...but because now they

know.

The world knows its Saviour is back.

PANEL 3. Vincent slinks into the shadows.

CAP/VINCENTSomething in my gut wants to do it again. Wants to go farther. So I keep telling myself, this isn't

who I am. The Saviour doesn't kill, and the Saviour wouldn't torture someone unless he had noother choice.

But still...do I even know who I am?

PANEL 4. Vincent drops onto the rooftop of his apartment complex.

CAP/VINCENTI've been lucky so far. I found not only the deed for my apartment, but the deed for all the

apartments above me. When I set this up, I apparently bought all the apartments so I couldmove from the rooftop to my apartment without fear of being seen.

That is, assuming it was me who set this up, but I think the thought of someone else knowing thismuch about me is pretty scary right now.

PAGE 9

PANEL 1. Vincent opens a door leading into the building on the rooftop and slides in, pulling off his mask as he does.

CAP/VINCENTRegardless, I now have three apartments. Spiffy, huh?

(Just wish I knew where the money for all this was coming from.)

PANEL 2. Inside the empty, third floor apartment, Vincent begins to strip out of his uniform. Aset of street clothes lay haphazardly on the floor, next to an empty duffel bag.

CAP/VINCENT

Hallways are empty, especially at this time of night. Always wondered why my building was soempty.

PANEL 3. Vincent, now wearing his street clothes, tucks his costume in the duffel bag.

CAP/VINCENT

If I'd known all this, I'd have hidden Aislan and Katherine here months...

PANEL 4. Vincent stops at the door, his hand on the doorknob, his head bowed.

CAP/VINCENTNo. Stop that. You can't let yourself think like that.

You'll find her, and you'll get them both somewhere safe.

PAGE 10

PANEL 1. Vincent opens the door, leading to a hallway and a stairway.

CAP/VINCENT

I just need to go hang up the suit, spray the blood stains so they'll come out. And I should checkon Aislan.

PANEL 2. Vincent steps off the stairs, coming to his apartment.

CAP/VINCENTI don't think she's come out of her apartment since...

Blah. This is all just such a train wreck.

PANEL 3. Vincent opens his apartment door, dropping his duffel bag as he steps in.

CAP/VINCENT

I just need to clean the suit...and check on her...

Save Katherine and...just have to be strong...

PANEL 4. Vincent dashes to the trashcan in the kitchen and vomits.

SFX/VINCENTHoouuurrrkk!

PANEL 5. Vincent is on his knees, his head pressed up against the trashcan, crying.

VINCENT (Weakly)

Goddammit. I can't do this.

PANEL 6. A close up of Vincent's face, tears stream down his face.

VINCENT (Weakly)

Who the hell am I?

PANEL 1. Inside Aislan's apartment. She still remains at the table, and has obviously not moved.A small, silver gun remains in the middle of the table. Aislan has been staring at it.

CAP/VINCENTI've lost so much...I have no answers.

PANEL 2. Vincent has turned to a sitting position, still leaned against the trashcan. His head isrested against it, with the palms of his hands rubbing his eyes.

CAP/VINCENT

What did I feel back there? Why was I so inspired to hurt that man? How did I even think totorture him?

PANEL 3. Back to Aislan's apartment. The image remains the same, only now her arm has

moved towards the pistol in the middle of the table.

CAP/VINCENTI should check on her. But part of me...I'm so scared of what I am. What I was. What I'm

becoming.

PANEL 4. Vincent's apartment. Same as Panel 2, only Vincent is now good.

CAP/VINCENTWhat would happen if she saw that side of me?

PANEL 5. Back to Aislan, who now has the gun pointed at her forehead, and is sobbing. A knock

comes to the door.

SFXKnock knock

VINCENT (O.P.)Aislan...?

PANEL 6. Vincent opens the door and peeks his head in to see Aislan with the gun at her head.

VINCENT...Aislan...

AISLAN

Just leave. Please.

PANEL 2, A close up of Vincent's eye, narrowing and focused.

CAP/VINCENT

I won't let it end for you like this.

PANEL 3. Vincent's hand grabs the edge of the table between the two of them.

CAP/VINCENTNo matter what I become...no matter who I am...

PANEL 4. In a swift motion, Vincent hurls the table out of the way. A startled Aislan is shocked by

the sudden movement. Vincent has already cleared half the distance between where the tableonce stood, dashing for the gun.

CAP/VINCENT

I'll never fail you again.

PANEL 5. A panel occupying the width of the page. A shot outside the door.

PANEL 1. A large panel. A shot of a TV. In front of it, its back facing the reader, is an old, yellowrecliner. Its worn in and hasn't been very well taken care of. Empty beer cans and tore up

newspapers litter the ground. A very large, muscular man can be seen just barely sitting in the

chair. The TV is blaring a newscast about the return of the Saviour.

CAP

Meanwhile...

PANEL 2. A reverse shot, showing the man in the chair, illuminated only by the TV. His fingersare steepled as he stares on. Its the paramedic who tended to Vincent and Aislan's wounds in

issue#1.

PANEL 3. A close up of the man's face. His eyes have narrowed, but otherwise, he does notmove.

PANEL 1. A full page shot. Vincent holds Aislan in his arms, sprawled on the kitchen floor.Neither are harmed. The table is thrown aside, the kitchen a wreck. A bullet hole is in the wall

behind the two, narrowly having missed Aislan. Aislan is pulling herself into Vincent's chest,

sobbing. Vincent holds his head against hers, but is looking off into the distance, as if he is lost.

CAP/VINCENT

We lay there for two hours. She never stops crying once.

PANEL 2. Aislan begins to respond. Vincent rises, staring at the TV. The phone rings in the

background.

CAP/VINCENT

CAP/VINCENTIts not far from here!

PANEL 2. Vincent hurtles himself through the door, not bothering to shut it behind him as herushes towards the Saviour costume, now hanging off a mannequin in the corner.

CAP/VINCENT

I can get there in about 10 minutes. The cops won't be able to stop Stephen by then, not whilehe's got a girl hostage.

PANEL 3. Vincent finishes zipping up the top of the costume and is reaching for the faceplate,

when something out of the corner of his eye stops him.

CAP/VINCENTI won't let her down this time. I take out Stephen, and have Aislan home in time for--

Eh?

PANEL 4. Vincent looks towards the other end of the room. From around the corner a glint of

white flaps at the ground.

PANEL 4. Sicarius grabs his mask and begins to pull it off, exposing his chin.

VINCENT (O.P.)

Ross? It...It has been a while. Hasn't it...

PANEL 4. A close up of Vincent's face.

ROSSI was worried I'd never get to see you again, Vince.

VINCENTYou're the reason I have all this, aren't you? You've been hiding all my gear here in case I needed

it again.

PANEL 2. Ross gestures about the apartment at the bits of tech and costuming gear.

ROSSThis? Least I could do for such a loyal sidekick.

VINCENT

Ha! Sicarius was always Saviour's sidekick, and you know it.

PANEL 3. The two brothers look at each other a moment more, looks on their face of belonging. At last, these two have the final missing piece of their lives back.

PANEL 4. Ross pulls his mask back on his face.

VINCENT

I have to help her, Ross.

CAP/VINCENTMy own brother. I'd forgotten so much, but now that I remember this...

PANEL 2. The two stop on the ledge of a roof across from an old parking deck. On the levelbelow the top deck, they can see Stephen, holding a shotgun in one hand and Katherine in the

other. The young girl is terrified, and weeping.

CAP/VINCENTI'm excited. Eager to finish this. I have so many questions.

PANEL 3. Ross produces two pair of binoculars, handing one to Vincent.

ROSS

You seem to be packing lightly these days.

VINCENTWell, you did hide everything pretty well.

PANEL 4. A shot through the binoculars. Stephen has several days worth of stubble and is

wearing exactly what he had on when he kidnapped Katherine, though a little worse for wear andwith a large blood stain on his shirt.

VINCENT

At least it looks like someone managed to hurt him pretty bad.

ROSSActually...I think that's your blood from yesterday.

VINCENT

Hm? Yeah. I didn't do much exercise, but I managed to stay in decent shape.

At least...I guess I did.

PANEL 2. Ross leaps off, unfurling his cape and dropping down towards the deck where Stephenstands. Vincent stands and watches.

CAP/VINCENT

It just feels right, to watch him in action again. And it all makes so much more sense now.

PANEL 3. Vincent leaps off behind Ross, his arms extended.

CAP/VINCENTSicarius coming to me after the accident. His refusal to speak about Saviour to the press. He

sought to protect me. His family.

PANEL 4. A close up of Vincent's face as he falls. Tears are starting to form in his eyes.

PANEL 2. Vincent leaps off and flips through the air, heading towards Stephen. Ross has already

made it to Stephen and chops him across his chest, grabbing Katherine with his free hand.

CAP/VINCENTAt long last, we'll get what we've been denied by the world at large.
