  • SAVEDRomans 10:5-15

  • Israel is lost. There, in the days of Paul, as well as in the world of today, Israel is lost.

  • And so, likewise, is the Gentile who thinks they can be righteous on their own merit.

Christ will tell us in John 14:6 that

“None can come to the Father except thru me”.

With that thought, which He carried over from Chapter 9, Paul continues to address the issue of righteousness.

  • Romans 10:5-15

(NIV) 5 Moses writes this about the righteousness that is by the law: “The person who does these things will live by them.”

(NLT) 5 For Moses writes that the law’s way of making a person right with God requires obedience to all of its commands.

  • Righteousness can not be achieved through the Law. If it were possible, it would be our own righteousness, by our achievements, and not Gods righteousness. 6 But the righteousness that is by faith says: “Do not say in your heart, ‘Who will ascend into heaven?’” (that is, to bring Christ down) 7“or ‘Who will descend into the deep?’” (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead).Paul is speaking thru the mouth of Moses (Deut 30) in telling us that righteousness, or salvation, is not hard to find. You need not go to heaven to find it, nor sink to the lower limits. It is right there before you, accessible to all for the asking, in the person of Jesus Christ.

  • The Living Bible, a paraphrase no less, and precursor of the New Living Translation, says it best...

6 But the salvation that comes through faith says, “You don’t need to search the heavens to find Christ and bring him down to help you,” and,7 “You don’t need to go among the dead to bring Christ back to life again.”

  • 8  But what does it say? The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart: that is, the word of faith of which we are the preachers: 9 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

  • Here is the

    gospel in a

    verse !!!

  • Here are the requirements in a sentence.

Here is the way to righteousness laid out in a straight line.

Here is the truth standing before you.

    Here is life.

There is no mystery here, no confusion, no requirements or searching are needed.

Simply it says... 9 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

  • 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. It is not just words that save us: uttering or repeating someone else’s words alone will not suffice. Nor can just believing merely as an acceptable idea save one. The heart is lifted, the voice is changed, and life for the believer is forever altered when the affirmation is both from the heart and through the lips combined.. May I ask you, have you been changed?

11 As Scripture says, “Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame.”

  • 12 For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile—the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him,13 for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” A rephrasing of verse 9...

    How simple can it be?

Both 9 and 13 are fitting ends to the Roman Road which began back is 3:23.

  • 14 How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? 15 And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!”

    John 14:6

Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.

  • Verse 14-15 seem to be a call to the missionary, and so it is. A missionary is a person sent to carry the Word of God into a foreign country. Is that you?14 How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? 15 And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!”

  • Gospel witnesses are sent into the world. They don’t wait for people to come find them

    in sanctuaries on Sunday.

The greatest missionaries never leave home. They witness where they are.
