Game Talk:
Last Time Out
“Would a win help?
Absolutely. We haven’t
been there yet, the fruit
has not been ripe, but we
keep pushing. Either way it
clearly has to be soon. ”
— Head Coach David Brandt
“The difference here
[than in Costa Rica] it
is more vertical. The
chemistry is good, but
the next game we have
to win.”
— Forward Alejandro Aguilar
Game Notes:
Team Rosters:
Pittsburgh: Wilmington:
· The Riverhounds (2-12-4) face Wilmington Hammerheads FC (6-7-6) for the first time this season. Last year saw the clubs play twice, with the Hounds taking their home date 3-0 thanks to a hat trick by Rob Vincent, and then drawing on the road, 1-1.
· Entering Saturday on a three-match winless streak, the Hammerheads have been outscored 9-to-3 in those contests. Wilmington holds a goal differential of minus-four on the season and the club has scored two or more goals in a match on eight different occasions.
· Pittsburgh is currently enduring a six-match winless streak, its second streak of such length on the season – the Hounds opened 2016 without recording a win in seven-straight matches in league play. Both are the longest streaks the club has experienced since the 2014 season’s 10-match winless streak.

· Dropping their last match 3-0 to the Charlotte Independence, the Hounds were shutout for a seventh time this season. Charlotte scored two goals in the first half to take an early lead, marking the second-straight match Pittsburgh has allowed two goals in the first 45 and fourth overall on the year – all losses.
· Forward Alejandro Aguilar made his Hounds debut this past week against Charlotte, logging 66 minutes alongside Corey Hertzog. The Costa Rica native registered two shots, including one on goal. For Hertzog, he is still in search of his first goal in five matches after registering goals in three-straight in the month of June.
