Welcome to the schedule for our fifth year at Sports Connexion. Last year’s show was very successful and the Field Officer gave us an Excellent. For 2020 we are going to be a Premier Open Show with several new breeds and we hope this will be as popular as our previous shows. Our aim is to put on a friendly and efficient show for exhibitors to enjoy. It has always been the policy of this club to give judges breeds only where they are on a current judging list and not to give judges many breeds. However with the cost of fuel this cannot always happen. If your breed judge is not on your list please forgive us and support us and next year you may have a breed specialist. As it is a Premier Open Show some of the new breeds have only 2 classes and may not have a breed specialist but every effort has been made to appoint someone on the breed judging list. All judges are contracted to send their critique to the Show Secretary for inclusion on our website. The Secretary is vigilant about chasing these up. The order of judging is in the schedule but we are not printing “Not before…” times. Summary of entries will be available on Fosse Data approximately one week before the show. Please do not phone the Secretary for these numbers.

Stewards are always needed so if you or a friend would like to steward please contact the Chief Steward: Mr Graham Dowdy, 36 Park Avenue, Duston, Northampton NN5 6QF. Tel: 01604 581760

Trade stands: enquiries are welcome. A stand will cost £20.00 and is only considered definite when the booking fee has been paid. Please contact the Secretary to book your stand. We never allow more than one stand selling a particular type of product.

A puppy is a dog of six and not exceeding twelve calendar months of age on the first day of the Show. 13. Exhibitors must not pick up dogs by their tails and leads when lifting them nor handle a dog in a manner which causes its feet not to touch the ground when on the move. This is not acceptable. 16. Dogs in Vehicles on Hot Days. Your dog is vulnerable and at risk during hot weather and the Kennel Club offers the following guidance to help guide you through the do’s and don’ts travelling to and whilst at KC licensed events.• When travelling to a show please take a moment to consider whether the route to the show is on a busy

holiday route, and leave earlier to avoid increased time in traffic jams.• If your vehicle is not air-conditioned seriously consider whether travelling to the show is a good idea at

all.• The vehicle should be as fully ventilated as possible, and plenty of stops should be taken, with lots of

water available to drink.• Ensure your dog is not sitting in full sunlight. There should be plenty of free flowing air around the dog.• When at the show, never leave your dog in the vehicle.• Keep the dog in the shade - take your own shade for example a large umbrella and always have plenty

of water available to drink so your dog stays well hydrated.• Avoid your dog taking part in unnecessary exertion, or from standing in exposed sunlight for extended

lengths of time. Remember, if you feel hot your dog is very likely to feel much hotter and dehydrated, and this could lead to

dire results. Please look after your dog’s welfare. WARNING: IF YOUR DOG IS FOUND TO BE AT RISK FORCIBLE ENTRY TO YOUR VEHICLE MAY BE NECESSARY WITHOUT LIABILITY FOR ANY DAMAGE CAUSED.

17. Anyone whose dog is entered at a Kennel Club licensed event should take all reasonable steps to ensure the needs of their dog(s) are met, and should not put a dog’s health and welfare at risk by any action, default, omission or otherwise. Breach of Kennel Club Regulations in this respect may be referred to the Board for disciplinary action under the Kennel Club Rules and Regulations. The use of pinch collars, electronic shock collars, or prong collars, is not permitted at any show licensed by the Kennel Club. This shall apply at the venue or within the precincts of the show.

18. Not for Competition entries will be accepted. Details of each dog so entered must be recorded on the entry form and must be Kennel Club registered.

19. No modifications will be made to this Schedule except by permission of the Board of the Kennel Club, which will be followed by advertisement in the Canine Press wherever possible.

20. Should any judge be prevented from fulfilling their engagement, the committee reserve the right to appoint other judges to officiate. Exhibitors are at liberty to withdraw from competition but no entry fees can be returned.

21. No animal other than an exhibit shall be allowed within the precincts of the Show during its continuance. 22. Any bank charges incurred through incorrectly completed or dishonoured cheques will be passed on to the

exhibitor concerned. Any exhibitor failing to pay entry fees and/or bank charges will be dealt with by the Kennel Club.

23. Passes will not be sent. For acknowledgement of entry please include a stamped addressed envelope. 24. Should any question arise which is not provided for in these regulations, the decision of the committee shall

be final, subject to appeal to the Kennel Club. 25. Any owner, exhibitor, handler or other person in charge of a dog is requested to remove as soon as possible

any fouling caused by their dog(s) at any Kennel Club licensed event within the licensed venue and within the environs of that event including car and caravan parks and approaches. Adequate receptacles for the disposal of such fouling will be provided.

26. No person shall carry out punitive or harsh handling of a dog at any time whilst at the licensed venue including its environs, car and caravan parks and approaches.

27. The owner, exhibitor, handler or other person in charge of a dog at Kennel Club licensed events must at all times ensure that the dog is kept under proper control whilst at the licensed venue, including its environs, car and caravan parks and approaches. This Regulation applies before (at any time during the set up period at the venue), during the event and afterwards (at any time during the breakdown of the event).
