Registration Payment Satellite Beach Recreation Dept. accepts cash,
personal checks, credit cards and money orders for
the payment of fees. Unless otherwise noted, make
checks payable to: City of Satellite Beach.
Credit Cards: The Credit Card processing company
adds to the cost of your transaction either $1.95 or
2.5% of the total cost, whichever is greater.
Online Registration is Fast & Easy! If you already have a User Name & Password, just
follow steps 1, 2 & 3 below to log into the system. First
time users, please follow these 5 easy steps:
Step 1: Go to www.playsatellitebeach.org
Step 2: Click on “Register Now”
Step 3: Log in using your family user ID (this is the
e- mail address you have on file with the
Recreation Dept.)
Step 4: Click on “Create Account”
Step 5: Complete the household information. You
must use the email address you have on file
with the Recreation Dept.
Step 6: Click “Create Profile”
You will receive a confirmation via e-mail and may
begin on-line registration.
Walk in Registration You may register in person at the recreation office
during our regular business hours, M-F 8:30am-5:00pm.
Payment may be made by cash, check, credit card
or money order.
Mail in Registration Print a program registration form from our website at
www.satellitebeachrecreation.org fill out completely,
include payment and mail to: Satellite Beach
Recreation 1089 S. Patrick Drive, Satellite Beach FL
32937. Payment of check or money order must be
included.
After Hours Drop Off Registration A registration drop box is available at the recreation
office, in the DRS Community Center Lobby, for after
business hours. Drop off registrations will be handled
in the same manner as mail in registration. Payment
may be made by check, money order or cash.
Class Refund Policy Please review your registrations carefully.
Refund will be automatic if any program is
canceled.
To avoid classes being canceled last minute
due to insufficient enrollment and in order to
accommodate waiting lists in a timely fashion,
refund requests must be made no later than five
(5) business days before the class begins.
Partial refunds may be given within 5 business
days from the start of camp.
No refunds will be given the day of or after a
class begins.
Note: City Financial Policy states that checks must
have 30 days to clear before a refund will be issued.
Refunds back to a credit card are accomplished
usually within 3 business days of the request.
Additional fees will be charged for checks returned
NSF and participation can be suspended until fees
are paid in full. For facility refunds, refer to your rental
contract for refund policy.
Returned Checks Customers will be contacted by the Recreation
Department for any returned or NSF checks. The
complete NSF policy may be viewed online at

Volunteer Opportunities The Satellite Beach Recreation Department has a
variety of ways for you to have fun, give back to the
community, and earn academic community service
hours. Age restrictions apply. Our online Sign Up

Beach Clean-ups
Help keep our beaches clean! Volunteers can
participate in Keep Brevard Beautiful sponsored
beach cleanups at two Satellite Beach locations.
Meet at Pelican Beach Park at 8am the 2nd Saturday
monthly organized by Ethan & Kathy Shoda. Contact

Beach Park at 9am the 1st and 3rd Sunday organized

Recycling At the DRS The DRS Community Center continues to serve as the

Tiny Tots Gymnastics Ages: 18-36 months This class allows toddlers to
experience physical activities designed to enhance
and develop gross motor skills, coordination, social
interaction and cooperative play. Caregiver must
stay with child.

your own.

2. Volunteer / Preschool Youth Recreation
*New City of Satellite Beach Youth Council The city is excited to offer a new youth leadership program. Open to city residents enrolled in 9th-12th grade
public, private or homeschool programs. There will be opportunities for students to learn about their municipal
government, participate in the Florida League of Cities Annual Youth Summit and work on community
projects. Applications must be received at the City Clerk’s office by Sept. 20th. Further details may be found at

Mr. Science Fun Ages: 5-13yrs Science should be hands on, fun
and messy! Each week kids will get the chance to
experiment and explore a different theme. Drop off
your kids with all their science fair questions!

Super Hero Training (CPR/AED)
Ages: 6-11yrs Showing children that they are not too
young to “save a life” is a great way to give them self
confidence and get them thinking about their role in
the community. Students will learn how to respond in
an emergency, perform hands only CPR, and use an
AED while wearing a superhero cape and mask.
Snacks, prizes and cape included!

Happy Healthy Chefs Ages: 5-12yrs Do you have a budding chef in the
family? This 6 or 8 week program includes nutrition,
education and hands-on preparation of healthy and
delicious meals and snacks. Your little chef will learn
about kitchen safety, proper food handling, how
to portion and balance meals, healthy substitutions,
and how to choose foods that give us energy and
brain power! A recipe book is compiled at the end of
the program. Food Allergies or dietary restrictions
MUST be disclosed prior to program start.

Tennis Classes for Youth Beginners This tennis class provides basic instruction for entry

Babysitting Boot Camp
Ages: 11-17yrs Learn how to be a responsible
babysitter in this fun and interactive class. The
program includes Danger Zones, pool safety,
American Heart Association CPR/AED and First Aid
Certifications, and how to promote your babysitting
business. Materials are provided.

Sign Language Beginner & Intermediate Classes Ages: 7yrs-Adults Students will learn or build on basic
sign language, including finger spelling, numbers and
important signing for emergencies. Learning to sign is
much like learning a foreign language. Ms. Sherri is
deaf and is able to communicate by lip reading.

owners provide temporary, urgent care to pets until
they can reach a veterinary or emergency clinic.
Covered topics include a wide array of pet
emergencies such as bleeding & bite wounds,
cardiac arrest, choking, burns, poisoning, trauma and
more.

Hawaiian Dancing for Children/Youth/Adults Ages: 3yrs-Adult Halau Ilima O Pololika (Brevard
Hawaiian Dancers Florida) is a traditional hula dance
school where students learn and grow in knowledge
of Polynesian dance and cultures. Classes for men,
women and children as young as 3 yrs old! Monthly
class fees are paid directly to the instructor. Family

Contra Dance Ages: Youth to Adult Come and learn this lively social
dance that has its origins in English country dance,
Scottish and French dance from the 17th century. No
partner required! Dancers form new couples each
dance. Each session begins with a brief lesson at 7pm.
A caller leads the dances at 7:30pm with a live band.

Unlimited Monthly Fee: Take as many RIM classes as you would like for one monthly fee! Monthly Unlimited Fee For NON-Competition Students: $172
Competition Team The RIM Competition Team is taught by high level instructors. Dancers participate in performances and competitions. This price includes mandatory classes and rehearsals. Monthly Unlimited Fee For Competition Team: $272
REGISTRATION FEE/TUITION/PAYMENT SCHEDULE There is a one time, non refundable registration fee of $20 per student and $15 per additional sibling due upon registration. After August 30th, registration fees increase to $25/$20. Class payment may be made in two ways: you may pay the entire 10-month tuition at the time of registration, or you may make 10 equal monthly payments, due on the 1st of each month. Payments for classes are accepted at the SB Recreation Office by cash, check or credit card.
LATE FEES Tuition payment schedule is strictly enforced. Payments not made by the 10th of each month will incur an $8 late fee (per student, per class, per month). If payments fall more than two months behind, students will be denied entry into class until payment is made. Unlimited and Competition students will pay a $16 late fee.

Satellite Beach PAL Family Fest
Looking for an evening out with the family? Visit our

KORNER with crafts & games for the kids. For more

PAL Youth Teeny Bopper Dances
Open to K-6th graders. Held at the TEEN ZONE, located
in the DRS Community Center Building. Cost is $5/
person on the 1st & 3rd Saturdays each month from

October 19 Teeny Bopper Halloween Costume Party
The Annual Halloween Teeny Bopper night includes a
costume parade and prizes. No reservations needed,
just come 6:30-9:30pm and pay $5 at the door.
*NEW Community Garden FunDays
Volunteers can participate in the Community Garden
monthly FunDay at the LOGOS Community Garden
located at 499 DeSoto Pkwy (behind the racquetball
courts). Meet from 9-11am on the 3rd Saturday
monthly for hands on introduction to local gardening
at our neighborhood garden, organized by Rodney
Smith. Bring your own drinking water. Donations are
being accepted for garden tools such as shovels,
rakes, trowels, wheelbarrows etc. Contact Rodney

September 14 National Drive Electric Car Show
Join us at the DRS Community Center from 10am-4 pm
for the biggest national day for Electric Vehicles. Have
all of your questions about driving on electricity
answered by people who do it every day. Learn how
their car drives, save money on fuel and maintenance
while they drive on locally created electrons. Both
static cars on display as well as cars ready to take test
ride and drives.
September 21 Florida Coastal Cleanup
Sponsored by the Ocean Conservancy and Keep
Brevard Beautiful at Pelican Beach Park, 8am-12noon.
Trash bags, gloves, data cards, pencils and sunscreen

September 21 Backyard Chicken Basics Workshop
Learn the basics of owning Backyard Chickens at the
DRS Community Center from 10am-1pm. Topics
include: diet, housing, sanitation, daily care, choosing
suitable varieties, coop and run requirements, feed,
health issues, predators and more. Taught by
Extension Agent Joe Walter and Fantastic Farm 4H

September 28 PAL 18th Annual Super Bunko
Bunko is an “Adults Only” game of dice and you can
learn as you go! Sponsored by the Police Athletic
League (PAL) to benefit their youth programs. Teen
Zone doors open at 6:00pm (dinner included!) and
dice roll begins at 7:00pm. The night includes a silent
auction, Chinese auction, prizes and fun. Advance
tickets are $20 from the Recreation Dept or $25 at the

October 6 PAL/Lions Club Pancake Breakfast
Enjoy this community pancake breakfast at the SB

Satellite Beach Founders Day & Marketplace
“A Walk on the Moon”
Join the City of Satellite Beach and the Satellite Beach
Woman’s Club as we celebrate our Annual Founders
Day and Marketplace, featuring more than 140 craft
and specialty vendors, flea market and bake sale at
the DRS Community Center 9am-3pm. Along with the
days’ activities, the community will enjoy a parade of
local clubs, groups and organizations all decked out
in “A Walk on the Moon” theme. The parade steps off
promptly at 11am from the Delaura Middle School
parking lot off Jackson Ave., winding through SB
streets ending up at the DRS Community Center.

*NEW November 16 Hooked Kids on Gardening
Youth ages 6-16yrs may join in on a fun morning at the
City of Satellite Beach LOGOS Community Garden
located behind the racquetball courts at The Desoto
Sports Complex, 499 Desoto Pkwy. The program, 10am
-noon will teach gardening fundamentals and kids will
take home a starter home garden! Pre-registration is
required for $5 and may be accomplished online at

The Satellite High School Jr. ROTC will provide calls
from Santa’s Workshop. Parents can call the SB Rec

December 7 Ocean Reef Beach Festival
Celebrate the ocean lifestyle with conservation and
recreation displays, activities and hands on learning!
Over 90 exhibits and vendors including food trucks,
local ocean artists, live music and more! The event is
free and will be held from 10am-5pm at Pelican
Beach Park. Proceeds benefit Surfrider Foundation
and Anglers For Conservation.

QiGong/Tai Chi An ancient Chinese healing art, QiGong is a gentle form of
exercise. Often described as “meditation in motion” this

1pm. Monthly cost is based on the number of weeks the
