Plot

• Ray has been missing from school for a week. random deaths begin to occur throughout the city. When his friends go to his house and confront him they realise that he is majorly ill and he hasn’t left his bed for days. Ray attends a party. Dana begins to realise that Ray is behaving very strangely.

• Dana decides to follow, only to see him praying for his life. His life that is now in the devils hands.

• The Friends try to relieve him of his omen and when they lose all their friends they need to find it instantly.

• A priest rids him of his burden only to find he has this burden now placed upon himself.

Genre

• Horror is our genre and this will be shown and represented by firstly the music and typography and the characters that will be shown throughout the opening scenes.

• Typically in most horror films there is always one villain who is an intimidating menacing person that is large in physical standing.

• A damsel in distress, which will often be represented as dumb and usually blonde who seems to date the head footballer.

• The hero will be represented as cunning and clever and still attractive to the opposite sex.

Visual style

• The typical style of a horror opening will have a high angle shot to make the figure look more intimidating, there will be a lot of shadow work to achieve darkness and using the camera shot mid or close up to make the persons identity a secret.

• The typography and title sequences will be in a typical horror style by using a blood type stained text and the music.

• We will also use typical icons of horror like the weapon and the rain that is used to make the scene seem authentic.

• The names of the production team and the cast will be almost insignificant as they will be small and white or red rather than bright vibrant colours in the scenes.

Villain-RayJake Gyllenhall gave me the original inspiration for the villain of my film due to his talent but the way in such films as Donnie Darko that he switches from being normal and reasonably sophisticated to a twisted and the complete opposite personality.

In our film we would like someone to act in a similar style to Jake Gyllenhall. The character I would like to cast would be similar to him and use the twisted change of personality to create the tense atmosphere and really create the basics for the horror genre.

Villains

Main Character-JacksonThis main character is vital in the story, in and in most horror films you have an attractive main male and they are usually relatively muscly and this will represent how they are capable of defending their friends and usually what turns out to be his girlfriend.In our film we would like to use a similar style of character, someone who is attractive and both clever and witty and yet not come across as cocky and arrogant, and also seem as though he is strong both in spirit and physically.
