Dear Alumni and Friends of SPA/SCC Each year, Saratoga Central Catholic School receives requests for tuition assistance from our SCC families. These families are committed to a Catholic education for their children but need financial help to provide it. SCC strives to give tuition assistance to as many as possible but we have been unable to meet the needs of everyone. At least 25% of our students currently receive financial aid but even more could benefit if we had more to give. In an effort to offset the cost of reduced or waived tuition, The SCC Angel Fund for tuition assistance was created. For the last two years, our students have accepted a challenge to raise money for this fund. This challenge occurs each Fall with our students participating in the “Walk-a-Thon” which is an annual event designed to increase the visibility of our school in the community while raising money for the SCC Angel Fund. At the conclusion of this appeal, the students are rewarded with raffle prizes and a brief walk through Saratoga Springs displaying our Saratoga Central Catholic Banner, thus “Walk-a-Thon”. In preparation for Walk-a-Thon, our students speak to their friends, neighbors and relatives and explain how much they love attending SCC and that they want to help their friends stay at school with them. They are motivated to ask for small donations because they do not want their schoolmates to leave SCC because of financial reasons. When our students ask for donations they also explain that they consistently assist others in our area through financial donations and volunteer hours. Saratoga Central Catholic students have raised money and volunteered for Saratoga Bridges, The Mollie Wilmot Radiation Oncology Center at Saratoga Hospital, The Special Olympics, Shelters of Saratoga, The Senior Center of Saratoga, Ronald McDonald House, WSWHE BOCES, The Wesley Community, The Home of the Good Shepherd and many others. Our students are proud of this commitment and we believe our success as an educational institution is tied to the success of others in our community. Our students try to raise as much money as possible and have been successful in raising over $30,000 in the last two years! Although this is a great start, it offsets only a fraction of the tuition assistance given. It is for this reason we ask that you consider helping us reach our goal of providing Catholic educational opportunities to those who need assistance the most. Our 2018 Annual Appeal to Alumni and Friends will support the SCC Angel Fund for tuition assistance. Please join us again in support of Saratoga Central Catholic School and our students. Dear Alumni and Friends of SPA/SCC

Each year, Saratoga Central Catholic School receives requests for tuition assistance from our SCC families.

Thank you and God Bless you!
