ONE YEAR INTERNSHIP AT BHABHA ATOMIC RESEARCH CENTER, MUMBAI.
Non Destructive Characterization of cracks in Cladded Pressure Vessels.
The project which was carried out at Bhabha Atomic Research Center Mumbai, was aimed
at the detection and characterization of the cracks in cladded pressure vessels, which was
done by developing cladded plate specimen and mock up blocks with artificial defects
being produced on it, the scanning and analysis of which was done using UT method with
TRL-700 Twin crystal probe(SONOTRON). The design of the probe has been done using
simulation software CIVA. Eddy Current Testing has also been utilized to find out the
surface and subsurface defects. Paper presentation of this project at International
conference APCNDT 2013, Mumbai.
Automatic Parking Brake System (Filed this project for the approval of Indian
Patent).
The project was aimed at developing an automatic parking brake, which will automatically
deploy or disengage by sensing the vehicle conditions (on/off and gear position) and
terrain level. The system includes an additional feature of emergency braking system to
avoid accidents during the failure of the main brake system.
Manufacturing and Testing of Biodiesel
The project was aimed at manufacturing biodiesel from sunflower oil and also its blends
with petro-diesel. The products were tested in MITSUBISHI KUBOTA IC engine and the
characteristics were analyzed and compared it with petro-diesel.
ONGOING/FUTURE PROJECTS
Modeling and Simulation of Electric Vehicle (Nissan Leaf) with OpenModellica.
Possible projects in the fields of Simulation, ANSYS, CFD, and Robotics as a part of our
curriculum at Carinthia University of Applied Sciences, Austria.
