    STATEMENT OF PROBABLE CAUSE

The Complainant states that the following facts establish probable cause:

Your complainant is Detective Michael Lochen, an investigator with the New Brighton Police Department. He

states that the following is true, correct, and establishes probable cause:

On 11-19-2012, police were called to 1900 Rush Creek Trail in New Brighton, Ramsey County, regarding a

blue van that was parked in front of the building with both doors open. Officers found the vehicle and, as they

approached, saw SARA MICHELLE SHENTON, D.O.B. 04/05/1977, sit up in the back of the van. She

appeared disoriented and confused and said that she had been sleeping. When asked why she as at that address,

she said she didnt know, and thought she was in Minneapolis. She became agitated and said she had been with two other people and didnt know why they had left her there. She said the van belonged to her but that she didnt have keys for it. As officers spoke with Shenton, they saw a Minnesota license plate in the passenger area of the van that had been altered from 157-JXY to 467-DXY. Shenton was asked to get out and when she

did, officers saw a blue pill on the seat where she had been sitting. The officer examined the pill and

determined that it as Adderall, a schedule II controlled substance. Shenton admitted the pill was Adderall and

belonged to her, but claimed she had a prescription. However, she was unable to provide the name of the

doctor, the size of the pill, the prescription container, or the pharmacy where she had filled the prescription she

claimed to have. Shenton was arrested and declined to be interviewed.

The pill was examined by the Ramsey County Sheriffs Office who determined that it was Adderall, which contains Amphetamine, a schedule II controlled substance.
