Your devices are nothing less than remarkable and powerful computers that fit in your pocket or bag, and there is so much to learn about them! I only get about twelve sessions to expose you to the most important and valuable information. By the way, this once was a two-semester course! I struggle each week to decide what and how to present to you, there is so much. This is why I constantly remind you of the resources available to you beyond the overview I deliver. Alas, we tend not to read manuals, right? I urge you to, at the very least, study the free Apple User Guides for iPhone and iPad. They’re clearly written, easy to follow and understand. Remember that you are given the choice of either accessing these guides/manuals online from your personal computer, or as a downloaded ‘book’ for your Books app on your devices and Apple Mac. Also, don’t be afraid to explore apps and the often-hidden settings throughout your devices. Point your Mac/PC web browser to support.apple.com/en_US/manuals and select the manual you need (“iPhone [or iPad] User Guide for iOS 12”). Select “Web” or “Books”. I recommend using the Books app because you can use the various highly useful annotation tools. Alternatively, launch the Books app, and tap on the Book Store button at the bottom of the screen to download and install the User Guide you need. Don’t forget to check our class website: www.LearnFromSandro.com where I regularly add material and web links to augment your resources. YOUR MEDICAL ID AND THE HEALTH APP ON IPHONE: The Health app gives you an easy way to set up your Digital Medical ID and is “A Bold Way to Look at Your Health.” It’s the place to learn about your health and start reaching your goals. It consolidates health data from iPhone, Apple Watch, and third-party apps you already use, so you can view all your progress in one convenient and secure place. And it recommends other helpful apps to round out your collection — making it simpler than ever to move your health forward. Go to apple.com/ios/health for everything you need to know about using the Health app on your iPhone the secure hub for your own medical history, as well as the place where you track your activity, mindfulness, nutrition, sleep and much more. SOS CALLING: This is a very important safety and security feature available on your iPhone and Watch. Your devices can be configured to call emergency services (9-1-1) and your key contacts automatically. However, although it’s easy to use, it is important that you understand how to set it up properly and use it safely and responsibly. Of course, it’s just as important to understand how to cancel calls in case SOS Calling is engaged by mistake! Have I told you where you can get all the information you need?
