If you don’t go after what you want, you'll never have it.
If you don’t ask, the answer is always no.
If you don’t step forward, you’re always in the same place.

Targets
Why do you need these?• So you know how well you are doing.• You get the grades you need.• We can support University applications.
Where do they come from?• Your minimum expected grade (MEG) is based upon the
GCSE results.• For subjects you have not studied it will be based upon the
average of all your GCSE results.• For subjects you have studied it will be linked to that
subject.• ALPS calculates the likely grade, this is often called in
school your ALPS target.• A subject teacher who knows you ability may raise your
target.NJm
National Average Student Progress GCSE to A Level
A student's GCSE Average Point Score is calculated as the mean average of the points from any full GCSE courses taken in Y11 or before, using the QCA system in which:
A* = 58A = 52B = 46C = 40D = 34E = 28F = 22G = 16

End of Half Term
• You will have completed an assessment, which will be reported to you and your parents.
Then
• You plot your assessment outcomes, on your Progress Chart, and compare them to your targets.
Next
• You discuss your Progress Chart with subject staff and your Tutor.
The PiXL Edge
The PiXL Edge has been designed for schools as a means of accrediting and developing those key personal attributes, that are desired by both employers and higher education establishments.
The five attributes are:
1. Leadership 2. Organisation 3. Initiative 4. Resilience 5. Communication
NJm
The PiXL Edge
The students have been enrolled onto the programme at the ‘Graduate level’, once this has been completed the students will have the opportunity to move onto the ‘Master’ programme.
Students will qualify at two potential levels:
Level 2: PiXL Graduate (Year 12)Level 3: PiXL Master (Year 13, Possible)
The students will be instructed on how to log their achievements online. Parents will also be able to access the PiXL Edge system and view what progress has been made.
Mr Matthew Bell: PiXL Co-ordinator
NJm
The PiXL Edge
AD
• The students will achieve a PiXL accreditation that is recognised by employers
• The students efforts in fulfilling the five attributes will be recognised and rewarded
• The Edge will give students valuable experiences that can be discussed in a potential interview
• Successful completion of the Edge will make your application stand out and be more desirable to a university or potential employer
Why are we doing this?
• We want to reward the students for demonstrating the key attributes that are not always apparent in their traditional lessons.
• We want the students to develop those key ‘life’ skills that future employers and universities will look for.
• We want to find ways for the students to enrich their studies outside of the
classroom, to fulfil their potential and be successful.

● The Sixth Form programme is very busy and
students will soon find themselves fully occupied and
struggling with deadlines should they fail to devote
the appropriate time to their studies.

Year 8 Example Report
JSO All
Codes
The report shows students’ attitude to learning in lessons. In order to be more specific, ‘attitude to learning’ is split into three key focus areas: Effort, Behaviour and Homework.
O – Outstanding, the highest standards always met.
G – Good, standards good much of the time, but
occasional inconsistencies leaves room for improvement.
I – Inconsistent, Standards are variable, unsatisfactory
as often as satisfactory. This adversely affects progress.
U - Unsatisfactory – standards are very inconsistent JSO All
BLUE - 2 or more sub levels above target
GREEN - On track
AMBER - Below target
RED - Serious cause for concern
If a grade cannot be issued then a “-” is used.
These are the targets for each AP..
This is the attainment from the last report of the previous year.
If a student is to reach their annual target they will need to remain on track during the year. At each Assessment Point (AP) the attainment box is shaded.
BLUE - 2 or more sub levels above target
Green - On track or 1 sub level above target
AMBER - up to 2 sub levels below target
RED - 3 or more sub levels below target
An AP column is completed at each half termly Assessment Point.Targets are reviewed each year to ensure they remain
challenging.
Quick guide in how to read your school report
The report shows students’ attitude to learning in lessons. A key to the codes is shown at the bottom of the report.
