*The master’s program in speech language pathology at Samford University is a Candidate for Accreditation by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (CAA) of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. This is a “pre-accreditation” status with the CAA, awarded to developing or emerging programs for a maximum period of five years. For detailed information about the CAA Candidacy Program, please visit the CAA web pages or contact: Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology American Speech-Language Hearing Association 2200 Research Boulevard #310 Rockville, MD 20850 800-498-2071 • **Graduation from an athletic training program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE), 6836 Austin Center Blvd. Suite 250, Austin, TX 78731; phone; 512-733-9700; [email protected] is necessary for eligi-bility to sit for the Board of Certification Examination (BOC), which is required to be licensed in all states. Samford University is seeking accreditation of a new master of athletic training program from the CAATE. The program will submit an Application for Accreditation including a Self-Study and on-site visit. Submission of this document and completing the site visit does not assure that the program will be granted accreditation. Students who graduate prior to the program’s achievement of accreditation will not be eligible to sit for the BOC examination. • †Effective April 29, 2015, Samford University has been granted Candidate for Accreditation status by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (1111 North Fairfax Street, Alexandria, VA 22314; phone: 703-706-3245; email: [email protected]). Candidate for Accreditation is a pre-accreditation status of affiliation with the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education that indicates the program is progressing toward accreditation and may matriculate students in technical/professional courses. Candidate for Accreditation is not an accreditation status nor does it assure eventual accreditation. • ††The Samford University Respiratory Care program, BS and MS degrees, CoARC program numbers 210620 and 200620 respectively, in Birmingham, AL, hold Provisional Accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (www.coarc.com). This status signifies that a program that has been granted an Approval of Intent has demonstrated sufficient compliance to initiate a program in accordance with the Standards through the completion and submission of an acceptable Provisional Accreditation Self Study Report (PSSR), completion of an initial on-site visit, and other documentation required by the CoARC. The conferral of Provisional Accreditation denotes a new program that has made significant progress towards meeting the Standards of Accreditation. The program will remain on Provisional Accreditation until achieving Continuing Accreditation. It is recognized by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) toward eligibility to the Respiratory Care Credentialing Examination(s). Enrolled students completing the program under Provisional Accreditation are considered graduates of a CoARC accredited program.
