Welcome to the Salisbury Sport newsletter, providing you with an update on sport and recreation activities within the City of Salisbury. The Christmas School Holidays are just around the corner and we encourage you to get out and about and enjoy the many ways you can be active in your local community, meet new people and have lots of fun. Erin Bell Netball Clinics Be trained by 3 time Premiership winner and World Champion netballer Erin Bell and her team mates. Get a shot closer to achieving your netball goals by being involved in an ERIN BELL Netball Training Session. The session includes: footwork, skills technique, game sense, attacking and defending skills, netball specific fitness and match practice. Salisbury Runs A fun run or walk once a month for people of all ages and abilities, plus Little Athletics games for kids and Yoga in the Park. Aussie Hoops Allstars

Aussie Hoops Allstars will help you advance your skills, build your knowledge of the game and learn how much fun it is to be part of a team. Whether you’re in a team, or still learning the game, this program is designed for budding young basketballers aged 12 years and under. Delivered by accredited Basketball SA coaches, this program will give you the skills you need to go on and play junior basketball.

Where: The Gardens Recreation Centre Fridays 4.00pm - 5.00pm during school term only

Ingle Farm Recreation Centre Fridays 5.45pm - 6.45pm during school term only

Junior Basketball Competition

Are you a boy or a girl wanting to play basketball or looking to take your game to the next level? Our recreation centres welcome the opportunity to play you in a team. Aussie Hoops

Aussie Hoops is an introductory program coordinated by Basketball SA Development Officers giving children, aged five to 12 a fun taste of what basketball is all about. Your child will have the opportunity to learn some skills of the game in a fun, non-competitive environment.

Netball - African Communities ‘Come and

Try’ Clinic

Netball SA and the African Communities Council of SA - Sports Committee are partnering together to bring netball to the African Communities of SA.

Where: Gardens Recreation Centre (Corner Kings & Martins Rd, Parafield Gardens)

Ages: Open to all ages (bring a friend, brother or sister, aunties & uncles or mum & dad)

On the Same Wave

Surf Life Saving SA and the City of Salisbury is inviting new arrivals, migrants and international students aged 12-18 years, to participate in this exciting program that includes the following fun activities:

• Learn about the beach, the surf and the role of surf life savers

• Swimming, rescue and sun safety awareness

• Live DJ, sporting activities plus lunch is supplied

• Transport is also available

Boccia is a skillful, exciting an strategic sport that was developed to cater for people with varying levels of physical impairment. It provides pathways to the Paralympics.

BasketballThe North Eastern Inclusive Basketball program is a non-competitive basketball program based on maximum participation for people with a disability.

The games are played with modified rules so everyone is welcome to participate. Opportunities available for both female and males of all ages and abilities.

Kindigym

Kindigym is a movement based program that encourages children aged one to five years to grow and develop through play in a fun, colourful and stimulating environment with the encouragement and supervision of their parent or carer.

Cost: $5 per session for the first child and $4 for siblings (registration fee of $5) First visit FREE for new members only.

Fruit Time: Fruit Time will be between 10.15am - 10.30am each week. We ask each child to bring along a piece of fruit to contribute. Staff will preparethe fruit for the children.

Midnight Basketball

Registrations are now open for our next tournament. Midnight basketball is an exciting program for young people aged 12-18 years. Each tournament runs for 8 weeks from 730pm to midnight on a Saturday night and consists of a healthy dinner, life skills workshop, heaps of basketball, transport to take you home at the end of the night and a great opportunity for young people to meet new friends and have a lot of fun in a safe environment.

Best of all...it’s FREE!

Girls Soccer

Lady Reds Football Player – Tiarn Powell will be the guest coach at a come and try football session for young girls at the Salisbury Inter Soccer Club. There will be small sided games, skills session, an information session and a FREE bbq.
