St. Gabriel’s Call Workshop The next St. Gabriel’s Call Workshop will be held on

Saturday, June 11th beginning at 8:30 a.m. and concluding

at 12:30 p.m. at St. Rocco’s School (Café Rocco), 937

student (public or current FJVD), currently in the 6th or 7th grade and a parishioner of Saints John & Paul Church,

is eligible to apply for the scholarship. Applications may be obtained at the rectory office or the school’s website:

On Monday, June 6, the Office of

Catholic Youth Ministry will host its

final 2015/2016 Glorify evening of

praise and worship at Our Lady of

Fatima Church in Cumberland at

6:30 p.m. The event is a great way for teens to meet youth

from other parishes who share their passion for the Lord,

and for expressing this passion through adoration and

song. Tomorrow's program will feature live music and a

talk by Father Michael Najim, chaplain at La Salle

Academy. Following adoration, we will gather outside for a

campfire and s'mores. All are welcome!

Annulment Fees Eliminated - As a response to Pope Francis’ expressed wish, Bishop Tobin has announced the elimination of all fees formerly charged for defraying the cost of the marriage annulment procedure in the Diocese of Providence effective July 1, 2016. Thus, the $500.00 fee once charged for a formal annulment procedure will be completely eliminated. Parties whose cases have already begun but are still in process need not pay anything further than the payments already made. As always, the expected donation was never a pre-condition or requirement to receive a declaration of nullity. No one has ever been turned away and no case has been delayed because of an inability to defray the cost associated with operating the diocesan marriage tribunal. By doing so, we hope that those who until now have felt the cost to be prohibitive, might feel welcome to seek from the Church the pastoral assistance they need.

Graduation Festivities – Father John V. Doyle School – During the course of this week, our graduating class from Grade 8 will be participating in a number of various activities highlighting their accomplishments here at our parish school. We extend our congratulations and best wishes to the graduating class as they participate especially at the Mass which will be celebrated next Saturday, June 11th, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. We extend also our wishes to the parents and the faculty of Fr. John V. Doyle School for the care and hard work in helping these students to reach the highlight of the elementary school years. Please pray for them as a new chapter in their lives opens with the new high school experiences.

Catholic Charity Appeal - Last week’s results bring us to the total of $166,453.00. The final date for donations and pledges will be June 30th, 2016 for this year’s appeal. If you have not participated to date, please make every effort to do so by June 30th.

Welcome To Our Summer Seminarian - We extend a warm welcome to Hiep Nguyen, our summer seminarian who arrived this Friday and will be with us into the month of August. He will be entering his First year of Theology in September. Hiep (pronounced ‘Hip’) is Vietnamese but speaks English very well. I am sure he will warmly engage himself in any conversation.
