CHARITY FUND APPEAL - We continue on the road to success as our grand total to date is $168,202.00 and 119% of the goal. This tremendous response is just a few dollars short of what we raised in the 2015 appeal. We thank all of you for your kindness and generosity in making our participation in this year’s appeal so successful. PARISH APPRECIATION DINNER – I am grateful to our Parish Council in sponsoring the Parish Appreciation Dinner scheduled for Saturday evening, June 25th in our parish center. Certainly, we are happy to encourage and invite all volunteers in our various ministries to join us for an evening of fellowship and food as we celebrate together the generosity and work that has been realized throughout this program year. I have always been proud and grateful to say that our parish wouldn’t be what it is, were it not for the many volunteers who are involved in the various aspects of our parish life. I encourage you to pay attention to the information column in this bulletin and if you are going to join us that evening, please return the bottom half of the column to the office so that an accurate count can be taken for the ordering of food. NEW ORDER OF RELIGIOUS SISTERS – I have been informed and am happy to share with you the news that a Religious Order of Sisters have purchased the old novitiate of the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary on Victory. The new order, the Missionary Sisters Servants of the Word, moved in on May 30th, 2016. They are now being acquainted with the new neighborhood and the larger community and we are happy to have them coming to our parish. I am sure that you have noticed them at our weekend Masses but also at daily Mass. The Sisters are founded in Mexico and they work especially with the needs of Spanish communities. Some of the sisters will be working in Providence and wherever the need arises. I welcome them to our parish community and encourage you to introduce yourselves and give them a warm welcome as they are truly happy to be living in this area. SCHOOL IS OUT FOR THE SUMMER - Beginning this Friday, June 17th, 2016, The Father John V. Doyle School year will come to an end for the summer months. We congratulate our students for their many accomplishments and academic progress and wish them and their families a wonderfully relaxing summer. May God watch over them and protect them always.
