God’s Blessings and Happy New Year from our Saint William Home

to your home. On the feast of the Epiphany, which means ‘manifestation,’ it is traditional to ask God’s blessing on our homes. May all who come to our home this year rejoice to find Christ living among us; and may we seek and serve Christ in everyone we meet.

The Epiphany of The Lord January 7, 2018

FOCUS: Seek Jesus diligently in your daily life. The Magi in the Gospel sought the newborn King diligently, willing to travel from the East to find him. We can find Jesus in our daily lives so much more easily, just by being open to the many ways he is present to us. How diligent are we at finding Jesus in our own life?

LITURGY OF THE WORD: The first reading recounts the splendor of Jerusalem as it draws other nations to the glory of God. In his Epistle to the Ephesians, Saint Paul proclaims the Good News that the Gentiles are co-heirs of salvation with the people of Israel. The Gospel recounts the journey of the Magi to Bethlehem, where they worshipped the baby Jesus. REFLECTION: Isaiah reminds us that believers will experience God’s "shining" through the dark-ness. Because of that light in believers, others will "walk by your light." He is speaking of the Gen-tiles. God is reaching out to non-believers through the light that shines from believers. So I ask myself:

• How and where do I experience the darkness in the world?

• How can I let the light of God shine through to others who are in the darkness?

Pre-Cana Session for engaged couples preparing for marriage is available at Maternity BVM Parish on February 24, 2018. To register call 215-673-8127.

Catholic Trivia: 1) What is the meaning of CCC? 2) Who actively participated in Vatican II Council? The Pope,
