PLEASE COMPLETE THE PARISH

SURVEy ASAP!

The Disciple Maker Index Survey is open and we need your help! Your input is important and we encourage every Parish member to complete the survey (all ages!)

The survey will only be available from now until MARCH 5. Please help our parish participate by completing a 10-15 minute survey as soon as possible.

1) ONLINE - the survey can be accessed at www.disciplemakerindex.com or via a direct link on the parish website www.srol.org

2) ON PAPER - If you do not have internet access, paper surveys are available at the church doors and in the Parish office. Please return the paper survey promptly to the office.

3) USING A PARISH COMPUTER - Computers will be available for your use in the Fr. Murphy Room during Hospitality Sunday after all the Masses on February 18.

The survey information is important to our growth as a spiritual family and as a Catholic Parish, and will be invaluable to Msgr. Graham and our various ministries as we seek ways to best support every one of our parish members in their spiritual journey.

We will receive the results in May at which time we will share what we have learned with the entire parish. Thank you for helping with this important project!

LIVING AGAIN The February meeting of our St. Rose Bereavement Group will be held on Monday, February 19, at 7:00 in the Father Murphy room, weather permitting. All those mourning the loss of a loved one are welcome.

WAWA HOAGIE COUPONS!

FOOD FOR CHRIST 2018

Feed and Be Fed

30,706 A Beautiful Number!

Way to go St. Rose! So far in 2018, our parish family has donated 30,706 servings of food to feed the 80,000 hungry men, women and children in our community. Weekly food donations have been increasing and we are helping to feed more people!

In the first month of Feed and Be Fed we have heard hearts being touched in the call to help the hungry in our community:

On a busy Sunday morning, a St Rose mom was juggling getting her

children to CCD, attending a faith formation class and bringing a food item for Feed and Be Fed. “Thank goodness there’s an easy way for me to be involved in making a difference,” she said.

LET’S KEEP THE MOMENTUM GOING!

Be part of this initiative. Simply purchase one additional non-perishable food item when you are shopping for your family to help FEED those in need. Bring your food donation to Mass, place it in the collection bins located in the vestibule and on the altar near the Blessed Mother, and BE FED by the Word of God.

Invite others to join this effort. Ask friends, family, fellow parishioners, neighbors, co-workers and others to join our outreach. Ask them to pick up an extra item to feed the hungry and if they do not attend St. Rose, offer to bring their donations to St. Rose for them.

FOOD ITEMS MOST NEEDED

FEBRUARY - CEREAL and CANNED FRUIT

MARCH - CANNED PROTEINS (chicken, SPAM, salmon, beef stew, chicken & dumplings, etc.)

START READING today and join us for the group sessions on March 8 and March 22. Come, read and experience the richness of our Catholic faith! The H.O.P.E. Ministry is seeking more

volunteers including those who want to serve

as Weekly Group Leaders

HOPE, Helping Other Parishioners in Emergencies, is a parish ministry that links caring volunteers with parishioners who need services the volunteers can provide (e.g. home-cooked meals for someone that’s ill or bereaved, a ride to the doctor or to Mass, a friendly call or visit, and other essential services when needed.)

Who are the HOPE Volunteers? Volunteers are members of St. Rose of Lima Parish. They may be retired or working, men or women, young or young-at-heart. They are from every walk of life, & have one thing in common – the desire to spend a little time in sharing their love in faithful service to others.

How Does HOPE Work? HOPE is made up of parishioner volunteers, six group leaders who each take a week to be on call, & a coordinator. The coordinator and group leaders’ names are published weekly in the church bulletin and field requests for assistance from parishioners and then match them with volunteers who can help.

We are currently in need of additional volunteers and interested caring adults that would like to serve as Weekly Group leaders (serve about once a month). If you would like to learn more about this opportunity to help fellow parishioners, contact Patty Ratke at [email protected] or call the office at 215-699-4617.
