Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s),
During this holiday season, I am thankful for the staff members
at Souderton Area High School. Whether they are teachers, cus-
todians, coaches, teaching assistants, study hall proctors, food
service workers, or secretaries, our staff members pride them-
selves on forming positive, mentoring relationships with as
many students as possible. I believe the most important and
most difficult task for school personnel is to navigate the tricky
relationships with other people. I am not disillusioned into
thinking that such relationships always go well – they are com-
plicated and often enough, they do not end up positively. How-
ever, I am confident that our staff members’ minds and hearts
are in the right place, trying to help students, rather than exer-
cising power over them. My hope is that when relationships
with staff members do not go well for students, there is always
one or more other staff members upon whom the students can
rely for mentoring.
I am thankful that Souderton Area High School is a place that
many students can call a second home because our staff treats
the students like they would treat their own families.
Have a great holiday!
Sincerely,
Sam Varano
Principal
I think the greatest
gift you can ever give
is an honest receiving
of what a person has
to offer.

Back To School Night Second Semester
January 30th, 6:30PM -7:30PM
The Second Semester Back to School Night at the high school is just
as important as the beginning of the year Back to School Night in
that parents will have the opportunity to meet their students’ new
teachers. With block scheduling, the beginning of the Second Se-
mester is like starting over again with new teachers and new clas-
ses. All parents are strongly encouraged to attend.
Dance Dress Code
The SAHS Winter Ball is schedule for January 18th. Parents are
asked to remind your students of the dress code. Below is an ex-
cerpt from the dress code:
Dresses/skirts must be at least mid-thigh length, with no plunging backs below the mid-back, not made from transparent material, or have side or front cut outs.
As part of Pathways 360°, this is
the time of year when JUNIORS
should be looking into mentor-
ship opportunities and SOPHO-
MORES should be considering
job shadows.
Students, if you have any ques-
tions or need assistance please
reach out to Mrs. Tarlo or Mr.
Darcy.
