Security officers are on duty 24/7 Positioned at posts around campus and
on patrol throughout the campus. Dispatch officers are on duty 24/7
Emergency lines are always answered and alarm and video systems always monitored.

Never leave your property unsecured or unattended.
Security efforts are greatly enhanced with the eyes and ears of nearly 7000 UM Medical Campus employees and students.
Report any unusual or suspicious activity to Security. Report strangers in your areas; challenge
their reason for being there by asking if you can help them. If they decline and act suspicious or you feel threatened, call security.

Report any act of violence or threats to security. Don’t be embarrassed. Ignoring it will not help or better the
situation. Threats can come in person, by phone, e-
mail or any other communication.

Weapons on
Campus
UM policy forbids weapons on campus including in your car.
Per state law, concealed weapons permit holders may NOT carry on any school grounds both public and private.
Security should be notified immediately if anyone other than a law enforcement officer is observed or suspected of carrying a weapon on campus.
