So wondering what is going on at church? Here is a short update on the Baptismal Font. For practical reasons related to plumbing, leaks and the
surrounding wood rotting
away, the baptismal font had to be removed from the gathering space. The leakage there left some nasty mold that was removed and the plumbing is being fixed before installing a new baptismal font that will keep the same plumbing footprint.
The flooring will also be fixed. Plans are still in the works, as Fr. Tom, Mike Engle and several others are consulting and researching the options to create a beautiful and useful baptismal font.
Theological tip—In case you are wondering why the font is right in the center when we enter the church, it is symbolic of the importance of our baptism when we first “entered” the church!

Use of the Parish Center Due to COVID 19, the Father Paul Vieson Parish Center is presently closed to group use. We apologize for any inconvenience to you. As we move through the Phases to normalcy, we will let you know when it is open again for use. Because of the health crisis and the strict adherence to COVID 19 rules established by the CDC and the State of Ohio, blood drives will continue every other month as a service to the community in an effort to continue to save lives. Gospel Summary Mark describes for his community the words and actions of Jesus at the Last Supper. Scholars believe that the words are more an attempt on Mark's part to help his early Christian community understand the Eucharist than they are the actual words spoken by Jesus. Still they help us understand that Jesus was leaving the physical company of the apostles, and he gave them a way of remembering him through bread and wine, his body and blood.
Gospel Reflection for Families Much of this reading is about sharing a meal with those we love. In today's crazy world, with all the ways we run our children and ourselves ragged, one of our greatest priorities should be mealtime. Make this a time of day when family members feel safe to share their dreams, joys, and struggles of the day. As often as possible, allow enough time so that the meal is not rushed. Try to have all members together at least for one meal each day. Even special touches such as flowers, soft music or lit candles help create an atmosphere that encourages fellowship.
Bringing the Gospel into Your Family Most families have lost loved ones, relatives, or close friends in death. Consider who some of these people are in your family's experience and share ways that you still remember that person. Perhaps you have photographs, some of their belongings, or beautiful memories. Make a connection to these memories and the memory Jesus left with his disciples and us. Allow each person to suggest ways he/she experiences Jesus' presence today.

7 Things Every High School Grad Should Hear • Live with intention. College will be full of new
opportunities. Think carefully about your priorities for your new start.
• Make the right friends..There will be plenty of new people! Concentrate on the ones who motivate you to be a better person.
• It's a big world! Look for new perspectives, new opportunities, and new ideas that push you to grow.
• Find a mentor. Building relationships with people who have “been there, done that” can be a great help.
• Give yourself away.You may not need to volunteer anymore, but you'll be surprised what you learn, how you grow and who you meet when you serve.
• Before you go….learn how to do your laundry, address an envelope, schedule a doctor's appointment, use public transportation, and cook basic meals (ramen doesn't count!).
• Remember that God is in control. And that's a good thing!

The Trinity’s Tips for your FamilyFather, Son, and Holy Spirit aren’t so hard to imitate, really.
This Sunday is Trinity Sunday, a day we badly need. It is a feast about unity that preserves multiplicity: The feast celebrating the Three who is also One, the one God who is Father, Son and Holy Spirit. By imitating the Trinity, the master of unity, we can relearn a unity that builds up a true individuality.
Brag about your spouse or your family. We have all heard that the Trinity is the model of the human family. Just as the love of Father and Son is a person, the Holy Spirit, so too, the love of husband and wife becomes a new person — a child. Just as those Persons are all equal and all one, family members are also equal and one.
But have you noticed how the Trinity “Family” behaves? In the Gospel for the Second Sunday of Lent, the Son stood on Mount Tabor by a pillar of cloud representing the Spirit as the Father declared, “This is my beloved Son. Listen to him.” On the second-to-last Sunday of Lent, the Father’s voice returned, declaring that his Son glorifies his name.
This is the constant dynamic in the Trinity — each person puts the spotlight on the other.
The same dynamic works in families. Praise the good you see in each person — to their faces and behind their backs — and watch the momentum of unity build.
Don’t take credit Another dynamic of Trinitarian life showed up in one of the Gospel options for Pentecost.
“When the Advocate comes whom I will send you from the Father, the Spirit of truth that proceeds from the Father, he will testify to me.”
Notice how much information is packed into that sentence: Jesus gives credit to the Father, and the Father gives credit to the Son, both through the Spirit.
The Trinity’s actions can’t be separated. Who saved mankind? Was it the Father who gave his Son, or the Son who gave his life, or the Spirit who followed? The answer is: All of them did.
It is the same in family life. The less credit we take in our lives, the better things go. If you need to be appreciated and thanked for everything you do, you will do little. Likewise, the more you are willing to appreciate and thank others, they more love you will experience.
Act in your family’s name. In this Sunday’s Gospel, watch how the Apostles are sent forth.
“All power in heaven and on earth has been given to me,” says Jesus. “Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.”
All power is Jesus’ — but he wants human beings to share the work, and the glory, in his name.
It is the same way in the family. The man who wants to go his own way in the world will usually achieve far less than the man who builds his family’s place in the world. Striving to make others look good always
beats striving to take care of yourself alone.
Pray like you’re a member of God’s family. St. Paul in the Second Reading tells us that we need to be able to imitate the Trinity. He says that, “you received a Spirit of adoption, through whom we cry, ‘Abba, Father!’”
The Catechism spells it out this way: Baptism makes us “‘a new creature,’ an adopted son of God, who has become a ‘partaker of the divine nature.’”
If it seems hard to build the unity our family needs, we should realize that we don’t merely imitate the unity of the Trinity — we inherit it as a birthright in our baptism, and maximize its effect through prayer.
Suffer for your family … and for your faith. You can always tell a true family member by how much they are willing to sacrifice. It was true when Solomon used self-sacrifice to discover a true mother and it is true in stories like Chiara Corbella’s today.
St. Paul in the Second Reading adds that that we are “joint heirs with Christ, if only we suffer with him so that we may also be glorified with him.”
In his new document on holiness, Pope Francis praises “the daily humiliations of those who keep silent to save their families, who prefer to praise others rather than boast about themselves, or who choose the less welcome tasks, at times even choosing to bear an injustice so as to offer it to the Lord.”
He even offers a prayer: “Lord, when humiliations come, help me to know that I am following in your footsteps.”

La Santísima Trinidad: El misterio de la Santísima Trinidad es el misterio central de la fe y la vida cristiana. Este misterio se centra en Dios. Es la fuente de todos los otros misterios de la fe. Es la luz que ilumina a todos los otros misterios de la fe. El misterio de la Santísima Trinidad es la enseñanza más fundamental y esencial en la jerarquía de las verdades de la fe. Toda la historia de la salvación se centra en la revelación del único Dios verdadero: el Padre, el Hijo y el Espíritu Santo a la humanidad; y sobre cómo este único Dios verdadero se ha reconciliado con la humanidad caída y se une con los que se apartan del pecado (CIC 234). La imagen de la Santísima Trinidad se muestra en la Biblia durante el bautismo de Jesús y durante su transfiguración. Cuando llamamos a Dios infinito, queremos decir que Dios no está limitado de ninguna manera. Todas las criaturas son finitas o limitadas. Porque las criaturas reciben su ser y sus perfecciones, y todo lo que se recibe es medido y limitado por el donante o por la capacidad del receptor. Pero para Dios todo es diferente. El ser de Dios no es recibido; Dios es un ser auto existente. No hay nada anterior a Dios del que Dios pueda recibir algo. Por lo tanto, nada puede marcar o limitar a Dios; nada puede establecer límites a la perfección auto existente de Dios; nada puede disminuir es a perfección; nada puede agregarle. Una perfección que no puede disminuirse ni aumentarse es necesariamente ilimitada o infinita. Por lo tanto, Dios es infinito en perfección. Como Dios es ser Absoluto, Dios es Infinito Absoluto. San Agustín sobre la Santísima Trinidad San Agustín afirma que hay algunas cosas acerca de Dios y sobre Dios que no podremos entender porque nuestras mentes no pueden comprenderlo. Si entendemos a Dios completamente, entonces Dios no es Dios. Podemos debatir para comprender mejor, pero Cristo mismo dijo que Él y el Padre son uno (Jn10: 30). La fe y la razón pueden coexistir y los que no quieren entender esto, no son serios. Hablando de la unidad del Padre y del Hijo y del Espíritu Santo, San Agustín utiliza un enfoque muy simple que es fácil de comprender. Primero, dice Agustín el Padre y el Hijo y el Espíritu Santo son uno y son iguales entre sí. Son tres personas distintas, pero un solo Dios.
