Our audience. Your customer. Every day, WLCH Radio Centro and TeleCentro TV reaches a potential audience of nearly a quarter million Hispanic residents throughout south central Pennsylvania. Our listeners and viewers are among the most loyal available in any medium. The majority of our audience tunes in 6 or more days each week, have listened for more than 10 years and listen more than 15 hours each week – compared to 4 hours on other area stations. And more than three-quarters of our audience is in the key 18-44 age demographic. Our listeners, viewers and online audiences place a high value on their Hispanic heritage, and favor brands that understand this. When you underwrite WLCH and TeleCentro TV you have the daily opportunity to tell our listeners and viewers that you value programming that not only entertains, but also teaches, inspires and broadens horizons. Supporting our programming communicates that your company sees the importance of supporting something the listeners value … that a company with a presence on Hispanic public radio and television is a company that shares their values, and is a company with which they are more likely to do business. This “halo effect” is the ultimate connection between your company and our audience. Let your message stand out in the uncluttered atmosphere of public media. We believe our underwriters are special - and our audience does, too.

Pennsylvania’s Hispanic market WLCH Radio Centro is licensed by the Spanish American Civic Association (SACA), as an educational public community radio station to provide the Hispanic Community with news, current events, educational and cultural programs. We offer our audiences a wide variety of bilingual programs that educate, inform and entertain. Our cultural programs provide Latino music, poetry, history, heritage and artist profiles, while our public affairs presentations offer discussions about the issues affecting the community. Our news programs keep listeners informed of local, national, and international developments, as well as sports and weather. Our educational programs cover topics ranging from legal and financial issues, to parenting. We also cover everything from general health issues, to behavioral health concerns with drugs and alcohol, to HIV/AIDS, and Hepatitis C.

Mission TeleCentro TV will utilize telecommunication technology to: Create a classroom-in-the-home that will enhance and strengthen the educational opportunities of the entire family. Provide the local educational system with access to Spanish-language educational and cultural programming for use in the classroom. Enable the human services community to present information, education and prevention services and programs to a limited English speaking audience.

Why TeleCentro TV? Lancaster continues to emerge as a rich multi-ethnic and cultural community. This diversity brings opportunities and challenges. A bilingual educational cable channel is an excellent mechanism for the community to overcome language and cultural barriers, for bridging the information and media gap that exists with marginalized communities, for providing the human service community to conduct outreach to hard to access populations, and for assisting educators in facing the challenges of teaching in a multi-ethnic and cultural school system.
