A Stewardship Moment: “And if a house is divided against itself, that house will not be able to stand” - Mark 3:25

Do your parish ministries complement each other or do they compete against each other? Is you parish “one Body of Christ” or a bunch of little, separate ministries controlled by human ego? The goal of all parish ministries is to bring people to Christ. All of our parish work should be for the glory of God’s name, now our own name.

Propagation of the Faith Appeal Next weekend our Parish will be holding the annual Catholic Mission Church Appeal. This year we are invited to help to heal a nation through education in Myanmar. A NUMBER OF APPEALS WITHIN THE MID YEAR

As we already know the number of appeals at masses significantly reduced when the Archdiocese introduced the Annual Catholic Campaign a few years ago. With this, the four big appeals of the Archdiocese compressed into one. However, appeals from various Catholic agencies and charities, such as St Vincent de Paul, Caritas Australia, Catholic Mission and Sea Fearers’, among others remain. So too have Universal Church appeals such as Peter’s Pence, the Holy Land Appeal and Mission Appeals. Our deanery also has her annual food appeal which involves all Catholic Churches and Catholic Primary Schools across our deanery. These appeals unfortunately tend to come up around this time of the year mainly because of the end of the financial year and the tax benefits that go with it. So, we are likely to have a series of appeals in our parish within the next few weeks. Other charities outside the church also target this period. All the same, we encourage our parishioners to express understanding and support to these appeals since it is through them that we impact positively as a church on the wider society. Below are the list and dates of the appeals coming up soon:

Catholic Mission’s Propagation of Faith Appeal (16th & 17

th June)

St Vincent de Paul’s Winter Appeal (23rd

& 24th June)

Peter’s Pence – Holy Father’s Universal Appeal (30th June & 1

st July)

Redland/Bayside Deanery’s Food Appeal for Rosie’s, BABI & Night Ninjas (14th – 22

nd July)

Archdiocesan’s Annual Catholic Campaign (8th & 9

th September)

God Bless,

Fr Emmanuel
