SADNESS IN THE FEAST5th Sunday of the Lent 1728/2012

(ST. JOHN SABA)

Blessed is he, who forgot the talk of the world by Your talk to

him? As by You, his needs are

consummated! 

THESE ARE MY FEASTS

And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, 2 “Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them: ‘The feasts of the LORD, which you shall

proclaim to be holy convocations, these are My

feasts. Lev. 23:1,2

HOLD A FEAST TO THE LORD

Afterward Moses and Aaron went in and told Pharaoh,

“Thus says the LORD God of Israel: ‘Let My people go,

that they may hold a feast to Me in the wilderness.’” Exd.

5:1

TO SERVE ME

So Moses and Aaron came in to Pharaoh and said to him, “Thus says the LORD God of the Hebrews: ‘How long will

you refuse to humble yourself before Me? Let My people go, that they may serve Me. Exd.

10:3

THE PASSOVER

After this there was a feast of the Jews, and Jesus

went up to Jerusalem. Jn 5:1

SADNESS IN THE FEAST

Now a certain man was there who had an infirmity thirty-

eight years. 6 When Jesus saw him lying there, and knew

that he already had been in that condition a long time, He said to him,“Do you want to

be made well?” Jn 5:5,6

NEW DIMENSION IN THIS FEAST

Jesus said to him, “Rise, take up your bed and

walk.” 9 And immediately the man

was made well, took up his bed, and walked. Jn

5:8,9

ST. NILUS OF SINAI

Always remain in a state of repentance forwe know not the day or

the hour at which the Lord will

come.

SIN NO MORE

Afterward Jesus found him in the temple, and said to him, “See, you have been made well. Sin no more, lest a worse thing come upon you.” Jn 5:14
