RYAN SMYTHBar 94 honours one of Edmonton’s most beloved former hockey players, Ryan Smyth. Edmonton has been Ryan’s home for many years, and he committed himself to the city when he came back to the Oilers organization to finish off his playing career, embark on another and when he and partner Chris Lachance opened the doors at LUX Steakhouse + Bar in downtown Edmonton.

Long time friends, Ryan and Chris wanted to create a unique dining & drinking experience in Edmonton inspired by the idea of a true Alberta steakhouse being the anchor. Entering into Bar 94, situated as the lounge connected to LUX Steakhouse, you are greeted by a New York inspired long bar and very comfortable social seating. They pride themselves on serving only the best cuts of aged Alberta beef, paired with classic creative cocktails, select vintages of wine all set in a contemporary room that welcomes friends & families alike.

Since retiring from the game, Ryan’s passion for hockey certainly hasn’t diminished, and delivering on an elevated social experience to the city that he loves and to the fans who have always supported him fills him with pride. Memories from Ryan’s hockey career adorn the walls as reminders of his proudest moments playing the game he loves. Inspired by Ryan’s work ethic, dedication and grit on the ice, the LUX & Bar 94 team are focused on providing patrons with mouth-watering dishes and a level of hospitality you’d expect from an establishment that embodies the values of a player like Ryan.
