Francis 11, Charles the fifth, and Henry the third.He was a leader in surgical techniques and

battlefield medicine, especially the treatment of wounds.

He was an anatomist and invented several surgical instruments.

He also came up with the ligature of arteries (which is closing of an anatomical structure with a piece of thread) during amputation and used it instead of cauterization which could kill patients from shock.

The economy during the renaissance was booming with art and materials being traded in markets.
