WARNING - to guard against injury, basic safety precautions should be observed, including the following:

2. DANGER - To avoid possible electric shock, special care should be taken since water is present near electrical equipment. Unless a situation is encountered that is explicitly addressed by the provided maintenance and troubleshooting sections, do not attempt repairs yourself, refer to an authorized service facility.

3. Carefully examine the ozone system after installation. It should not be powered up if there is water on parts not intended to be wet.

4. Do not operate the ozone system if it has a damaged power supply, if it is malfunctioning or if it is dropped or damaged in any manner.

5. Always shut off water flow and drain system before changing VAF filters or performing maintenance activities.

6. Do not use this ozone system for other than the intended use . The use of attachments not approved, recommended or sold by the manufacturer / distributor may cause an unsafe condition.

7. Intended for indoor use. Do not install this ozone system where it will be exposed to the weather. Do not store this filtration system where it will be exposed to temperatures below freezing unless all the water has been drained from it and the water supply has been disconnected.

8. Read and observe all the important notices and warnings on the water ozone system.

9. If an extension cord is necessary, a cord with a proper rating should be used. A cord rated for less Amperes or Watts than the ozone system rating may over heat. Care should be taken to arrange the cord so that it will not be tripped over or accidentally pulled from the outlet.

General Safety Instructions


Function / Description

The ATS Rainwater/Graywater Ozone Systems are designed to work in conjunction with a final filtration & disinfectionsystem for reclaim water. The RWRS models are able to keep water clean in storage. The first stage provides the initial filtrationthrough the VAF filter. The second stage provides disinfection with ozone and recirculates the water to keep it fresh. This preventsthe build up of algae and bacteria in storage tanks.

Installation

Pre-Installation Check List Water Pressure — If the water pressure is over 80 psi, a pressure reducing valve must be installed before the equipment and set at 60 psi

Electrical — A continuous supply of 110 to 120 volt - 60 hertz current should be located at installation site of the equipment.

A drain, must be available within 20 feet of the equipment.

Location of the equipment must be where it is not subject to freezing,direct sunlight or room Temperature over 120°F.

Installation1. All plumbing must conform to local codes

2. Location Selection

• If it is likely that supplementary water treatment equipment will berequired, make certain adequate additional space is available.

• Do not install any equipment closer to a water boiler than a totalrun of 10 feet of piping between the outlet of the equipment andthe inlet to the any hot water.

3. Water Line Connection

• Close main water supply valve.

• Open to relieve water pressure and drain system.

• Set the equipment into installation position.

• Assess the installation (i.e. type of pipe, size of lines, etc.) and ob-tain necessary plumbing fittings for installation. Use Teflon tape on all threaded connections and avoid over tightening.

WARNING: If your piping system is subject to impulse pressure re-sulting in a “water hammer” condition, a surge tank or other meansmust be provided to remove this condition.

4. Flanged Connection

• Flange bolts should be tight enough to slightly compress the gas-ket and make a good seal, without distorting or putting excessivestress on the flanges. Suitable washers should be used between thebolt head and flange and nut and flange. Nuts and 5/8” diameterbolts should be metal, well lubricated and used with soft rubber gas-kets. Bolts should be tightened in alternating sequence to a finaltorque of 15 - 25 foot pounds.

NOTICE: Please remove all shipping and crating materials carefully. Be sure to remove the plugs from theinlet and outlet opening. Dispose of all crating materials safely.

5. Electrical Connection

• All electrical supplies should be installed and checked by a qualifiedelectrical contractor and follow all local codes. (See wiring diagram onpage 9 for details)

6. Drain Connection

• Run drain from system to open floor drain, making sure not to hardconnect the line to the floor drain.

7. Startup

•Prior to turning the water on, please check the following!

1. Refer to page 6 for Ozone Startup.

2. Electrical connection is made and protected.

3. VAF filters are properly installed and all air purged from system.

4. Inlet and outlet flanges are securely fastened.

5. Slowly turn on water (making sure to check for leaks).

MaintenanceNOTICE: The four (4) Corona Discharge cells come specially pre-installed by the factory to help preventshipping damage.

Maintenance & Intallation of Corona Discharge Cell

THE UNIT MUST NOT BE ENERGIZED UNTIL THE CD CELLS HAVE BEEN PROPERLY INSTALLED FOR OPERA TION! (It is recommended that the distributor and/or end-user remove and inspect each CD Cell, prior to use, to ensure that ship ping damage has not occurred. In the event that damage is present please contact your local authorized dealer or the factory.)

Steps for CD CellReplacement and/or Installation:

1. Remove the screw holding the manifold hinge plate assembly to the generator back plate.

2. Open the manifold hinge plate, hold-open the carriage bolt, and swing the manifold hinge plate outward. (Note: Avoid pulling on the H.V. Transformer wires.), (See figure #4)

3. Carefully remove the nuts and washers holding the H.V. Caps in place. Remove the H.V. Cap.

NOTE: The H.V. Cap will be under a slight spring pressure, hold the cap while removing the nuts.

4. Remove the foam packing material from inside the H.V. Cap and dis card.

5. Remove the Viton gasket and the six (6) aluminum stand-offs. (Use a ¼” socket or driver to remove or install the stand-offs.)

6. Remove and inspect the CD Cell for any damage. (If damaged con tact your local authorized dealer or the factory.)

7. Install the CD Cell into the manifold housing with the metal end fac ing up. Center the CD Cell in the manifold housing by compressing and releasing the CD Cell in the manifold a few times. (The tension retaining devise, located at the bottom of the manifold assembly, will self-center the CD Cell with motion.)

8. Install the Viton gasket over the top of the CD Cell, centered through the manifold studs until flush with the manifold flange.

9. Install the H.V. Cap by setting it carefully on top of the CD Cell. Press downwards centering the H.V. Cap through the manifold studs until flush with the Viton gasket. Install two (2) of the alu minum stand-offs at opposite sides of the H.V Cap to hold in place.

10. Install the remaining aluminum stand-offs. (Tighten all stands-offs completely and securely using the tightening pattern shown in Fig ure #3).

11. Swing the manifold hinge plate inward and latch the carriage bolt closed to prevent the hinge plate from opening. (Note: You do not need to re-install the hold-down screw for the hinge plate once the unit is mounted.)

System Start-Up

1. Check all components, electrical connections, tubing, etc… Verify thatthe oxygen concentrator “ON-OFF” switch is in the ON position.

NOTE: To avoid the possibility of creating ozone with no cooling air flow through the manifold assemblies, it is recommended that the oxygen concentrator “ON-OFF” switch be left in the ON position unless performing maintenance or repair.

2. Apply power to the system.

3. Verify that the ozone generator functions. This is indicated by the “RED” light on the front of the door.

4. Verify that the oxygen concentrator is functioning. The oxygen control panel lights should be on and switching, the pressure gauge should start rising and falling, a nitrogen purge sound should be heard about every 17 – 20 seconds and the desiccant indicator crystals should be blue, (or turning to blue).

We strongly suggest that the final step in your installation process be the placement of the Manual in a convenient location near the ozonegenerator. If you are not the enduser of this product, you must provide your customer with the Manual. The information contained therein is vital to the equipment per formance, reliability, and warranty eligibility.

Note: The CD Cell is under spring tension. To avoid thecap causing possible damage to the CD Cell hold the capdown while removing the last two stand-offs. Then care-

fully remove the cap straight up.

Operating The Meter:

Before Proceeding make sure that:• The Setpoint value has been properly adjusted• The Auto/OFF/ON switch is in the desired position.

Install or immerse the electrode in the solution to be moni-tored, then press the “MEAS” key (if necessary). The LCDwill show the ORP (mV) value. The LED indicator will lightup Green when the meter is in measurement mode and dos-ing is not active, and it will light up Orange/Yellow for sig-naling that a dosing action is in progress.

Setpoint:

Press “SET” key: the display will show the default or previ-ously adjusted value, together with the “SET” indication.Using a small screwdriver adjust the “SET” trimmer until thedesired setpoint value is displayed. After 1 minute the meterautomatically returns to the normal mode; or press the“MEAS” key.
