Bitter-sweetbecauseononehanditisthecelebrationofalltheeffortsputinbyallthetablersofArea5andspeciallytheoutstandingworkdonebyallthemembersoftheBroTeam,andwhatcrazyresultsyouBroshaveachieved!Ontheotherhand,itstimetosaygoodbyeasyourChairmanandhandover themantletotwoextremelydynamictablersinTr.RiteshBansal&Tr.PuneetBansal.

Thisoccasionisbitter-sweetalsoforthisisthelastAreaAGMofthecombinedarea5andhenceforthweshallmeeteachotherasmembersofdifferentareas.This while sad on a personal level, is a step in the right direction for ourassociation.

This is the last time that I have the opportunity to address all of you as theChairmanofarea5andIwouldliketotakethisopportunitytoelaborateonthethemeoftheyear.Istartedoutpreparingforthisyearwithanover-ridingthoughtthatthisshouldbeayearofbrotherhoodandbonding.Nowthis isnotanewconceptforanyAreaChairmantakingover.Thisledtomethink,whatcouldbedonewiththethemefortheyearwhichwouldunderscorethisthoughtaswellascreateanidentitywithwhichtheteamwould loveto identify. IchanceduponBrothersinArmsasathemeandthethoughtjustseemedperfect.ThesethreewordsperfectlydenotedallthatIwantedtocommunicatewithmyteamthatwearetogetherineverythingthatwedo.Wesucceedtogetherandwefailtogether.Thankfully,therewerefarmoresuccessesthisyearthanwerefailures.WhatalsoworkedbeautifullywastheusageofwordBrotoaddresseachotherandIlovethewayBrobecamesynonymouswithtablersofArea5.ThisthemehasdefinedmytablingcareerandIhopethatithasenhancedyourtablingexperiencethisyear.

WehaveseenmanytablersinArea5reachtheirpinnacleofperformanceduringthe course of the year with the fellowship being at a crazy all time highthroughout. The spirit of fellowship was evident not only with the amazing

The icingonthecakewassurelyJaffawheretheentire fraternityofRoundTableIndiagotanopportunitytoexperiencethegrandeurofArea5hospitalityoveramostbrilliantlyplannedandexecutedweekendofsportingfellowshipculminating in a sizzling performance by the great entertainer Mika. MycomplimentstotheanchortableDRT5andallthetablerswhoworkedextremelyhardtogivethiseventtotheArea.MyheartfeltgratitudetoTrs.TarangKrishna&AnjumAroraforputtingtheirheartandsoulintothisevent.

Apartfromtheelectricfellowship,projectactivitieswerealsosuperchargedupwithnumeroustablesengaginginFTEactivitiesthroughouttheyear.ThesheervolumesofACR'ssignedbymethisyearmademefearthatRoundTableIndiawouldrunoutoffundsifArea5continuedlikethis.Area5alsotooktheimpetusfor the Coke SMS (Support my school) projects with four projects beinglaunchedandthefirstonecompletedintheArea.MysincereappreciationtomyArea Project Conveners Trs. Amit Jain, Ashish Gupta and Vinamra Jallan forinfusinglife-bloodintotheseactivities.

But if this year in Area 5 would be remembered for anything, it would beremembered for the spurt of extensions that happened in Area 5 this year.ExtensionshavealwaysbeenveryclosetomyheartanditishearteningtoseethatwehavemanagedtogiveRoundTableIndia9newtablesfromthelastAreaAGM to this one. Friends, 9 tables can constitute an area according to theconstitution of Round Table India and this feat achieved by all of you isunprecedented.Irememberthatinmyinitialyearsoftabling,forminganewtableinayearusedtobeahugedealandanoccasiontocelebrate.Wellwehavetrulysmashedthatglassceilingthisyear!Whiledoingso,wehavecrackednewcitieswhichhadbeenonourradarforsometimelikeBhopal&Jodhpur.Wehavefirmlyput the imprintofRoundTable inCentral Indiawith4 tables alreadyrockingMadhyaPradesh.Mycomplimentstoalltablerswhowereinvolvedinthis process and specially Tr. Anil Bagri who played a key role in 4 tableextensionsthisyear.Kudos!

Three institutes have been identified in threedifferentlocations-Jaipur,Chandigarh,Delhi.Each institutes has 35 plus individuals who arewaitingforgenerositytowardsthemtohelplistentotheworld.Checkupcampswillbeconductedbydoctors in the respective cities under the supervisionofAreaProjectconvenorswherehearingaidmachineswillbehandedovertothemaspertheirrequirement.

A small contribution of Rs. 5000 was collectedfrom Tables/ Tablers of area 5 to adopt a childunderthisprogram.

Afewdaysago,ournationwitnessedadisasterofepicproportions in the State of Jammu& Kashmir. Theonslaught of the floods on that terrain led towidespreadwreckageanddevastation.Peoplewererenderedhomelessandpreciousliveswerelost.Adeterminedhumanspiritalonecouldhavereturnedanappropriateresponse in timesofsuchadversity.With its true commitment to serve the society andhelptheneedydifferenttables/tablersacrossAREA5along with the Round table India Distributed kitswhich had Blankets, Torch, Tent, Rope, Rice, Dal,Chana, Salt, Milk Powder, Matchbox, Tea, Candle,Soap,SanitaryNapkins,Biscuitsetc.Wepray that life resumes tonormal for thosewhohavebeenbadlyeffectedwiththisnaturalcalamity.

AvigorousreliefeffortwasorganizedbyArea5to support the victims of the massiveearthquake at Nepal. This effort saw Area 5tables contributing in huge quantities reliefmaterialswhichwassenttoRoundTableNepaltobedirectlydistributed.Tablers from across the Area came togetherand worked wonders to support this noblecause

at Corbett was a defining moment in my tabling life. A first hand

experienceofhowtablersuniteforagoalanddeliverwhentheoddsare

makingsince2004.

In2012,whenPrashanttookoverastheAreaViceChairman,weknew

whatweasatableweregettinginto.Itwasclearthatwewillhavetotake

additionalresponsibilitiesandoneofthebiggestofthemwouldbeto

hosttheAreaAGM.Thebigquestionwas,whowouldbecomethefirst
