Busting the myths about RPA4 common myths about RPA
RPA IS MAINLY DRIVEN BY COSTS SAVINGS
The truth is that … costs savings are only one of the key drivers amongst others such as strategical payoffs or operational benefits.
RPA WILL DEPLOY PERFECT ROBOTS, WITH 0% ERROR RATES
The truth is that … while robots can replicate the activities their activities with 100% accuracy, changes in their “external” environment - may trigger errors.
ROBOTS CAN THINK JUST LIKE HUMANS DO
The truth is that … robots only mimic human behavior, combined with machine based cognitive intelligence but can also replicate human reasoning
ROBOTS WILL TAKE PEOPLE’S JOBS
The truth is that … all recent studies performed on companies adopting RPA, show that the vast majority of these companies are focused on increasing the effectiveness and the efficiency of their human workforce instead of eliminating it
THE VIRTUAL AND HUMANWORKFORCE WILL CONTINUE TO CO-EXIST.
THE ROBOTIC WORKFORCE WILL BECOME AN EXTENSIONOF THE HUMAN WORKFORCE.

What Can Software Robots Do?Here are some of the tasks that can be easily handed over to Robots
Look at That Robot Go!
How can RPA help me?
BETTER CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE. Increasing service quality up to a 100% accuracy rate due to high repeatability and zero fatigue. Decreasing delivery time – a reduction of up to 90% in cycle times.
ENHANCED ABILITY TO MANAGE. RPA brings improved governance & compliance (requirements are embedded in automation rules), through improved processes & data security, and enhanced disaster recovery (remote server control over the robots).
COST REDUCTION. An RPA robot costs a fraction of an FTE and can work 24/7/365, which translates into a cost reduction of 35-65% for onshore process operations and 10-30% in offshore delivery.
NON-INVASIVE TECHNOLOGY. RPA doesn’t require any major IT architecture changes or deep integration with the underlying systems(unlike BPMS). RPA offers a reliable, but fast and cost efficient way for a “light weight” integration into processes and IT assets.
SCALABILITY AND FLEXIBILITY. Once a robot is trained, additional robots can be deployed quickly for either no extra or minimal cost. Scaling the robots up or down due to volume fluctuation takes place in a matter of minutes.
INCREASED COMPLIANCE. Through rule based automation, which can enforce compliance requirements & keep audit trails 100% of the time.
ELIMINATE REPEAT WORK. Reducing headcount: The new army of virtual FTEs takes over the repetitive, non-value-adding tasks performed by humans, while humans act as virtual workforce managers - monitoring robots and handling exceptions.
ENHANCED PROCESSES. Enhances process quality, compliance, security and continuity. RPA expedites processes, leading to an increase in throughput and a boost in overall productivity.
INSIGHTS AND ANALYTICS. All activities performed by robots can be logged and interpreted through customized reporting tools, for the most part providing visual dashboards that can be adapted for each operational requirement.
RAPID ROI. Can see quick returns due the rapid speed of automation.
IMPROVED SERVICE DELIVERY. RPA boosts the quality of services delivered by minimizing manual intervention, errors & work duplication while rapidly decreasing processing times = increasing capacity.

Process AnalysisKnowing what to automate
26
Process AnalysisKnowing what to automate
27
Implementation StrategyKnowing what to automate
Factors driving automation complexity
• Agent/user doesn’t use his/her experience to take any judgement or make decisions while processing a case but on the businessrules and pre defined logic
Rule Based
• Manual & Repetitive - A process which is performed by user and most of the process steps are same for all cases or transactions.• Semi Manual & Repetitive - A process which is performed by user and also involves any automation mechanism like Macro,
Outlook plug-ins, etc. • Automated - A process is already automated. Specify using what in comments• Manual But Not Repetitive - A process which is performed by user and process steps for each case will not be same.
Process Type
• Input are Standard - Inputs are standard if the content is positioned in the same place even if the input types are different. Eg: Position of details in an invoice like Invoice number, date, amount, Name etc in an input type(PDF, Word etc) are always fixed.
• Input are NOT standard - Input are considered as not standard when the position of content varies in the input type(s).
Standard Input
• The process or applications used to process a case going to change within 3 - 6 months. E.g. Major upgrading in ERP systems, Process re-engineering etc
Process or applications used (Expected a change in next 6 months)
• %age of the total volume received cannot be processed which cannot be processed without an external factor(query/approval, ).i.e. those steps for which there is no next action is defined. In simple terms, % of transaction for which process is not defined or new clear rules exists

The Process
Nonprofits would have to first apply to be a part of this
program. In order to be a part of this program, nonprofits have
to:
- Dedicate time and effort in working with the volunteers to ensure a successful deployment
- Stand up and maintain infrastructure (we will provide guidance / knowledge)
- Provide access to VMs hosted within firewall
- Maintain the process post production release (we will provide guidance / knowledge)
Once admitted, nonprofits would get a user profile within
Enterprise Connect for Nonprofits
- Nonprofits would then submit ideas through Connect Enterprise Hub
- UiPath would select appropriate processes based on selection criteria, overall impact to society, and strategic objectives for the program
- Once selected, the process would undergo a first level analysis to understand the requirements
Once the details of a process are collected, UiPath would decide which processes to
pursue and develop
- UiPath selects appropriate processes based on
- Track documentation and all artifacts through Connect Enterprise Hub

Proof Point – The New York FoundlingResults
1. Helped improve compliance with the New York State
2. Allowed for process improvements and standardization
3. The main component can be used by allsocial service nonprofits in New York
• We can use this component for other non-profits with minor configuration changes
4. ~ 700 clinicians spend 4 hours a week doing this process:
• 16 hours per month per clinician• ~100,000 hours per year
37
Proof Point – The New York FoundlingResults
“We asked our clinicians what they’ll do with the extra 16 hours per month they have. Some said they want to participate in committees that they weren’t able to in the past due to their jobs being so busy; others said they want to complete advanced licensing education. But most said they want to be able to spend more time with the families the Foundling works with, especially those that are difficult to engage with or are at an acute point in their treatment.”

Once you apply automation to remove the mundane tasks from a person, this can bring them joy. That person becomes more valuable to the enterprise.“
