Royal Russell
Junior School
Bulletin
Spring Term
1853 Comedy Night and Event News I and the committee would like to thank all parents, staff, and their friends who
put their trust in us for our first ever 1853 Comedy Night: And what a night! Courtesy of JokeKlub who had booked four amazing comedians, Great Hall was
transformed into our very own comedy club and the sound of laughter and people having a really great time filled the space for over 4 hours.
I suppose this perspective does depend on if you were lucky enough to be sitting in the front row of tablesâŚ.. Both headmasters escaped relatively
unscathed as did your chair: phew! This is certain to become a regular on the calendar: so my thanks to all who
assisted make the evening go so smoothly: and for such a great eveningâs adult entertainment.
The popularity of this evening for grown-ups, means that we have decided to move the Race Night to the first couple of weeks in the Autumn term (date to be announced)- my apologies to those who may be disappointed, but we then have an event to also appeal to parents whose pupils have recently joined the school.
So the next event we are hosting is the Royal Russell Summer Ball on the 20th June.
This is a black tie event open to all the Royal Russell community of Parents, Governors, Staff, ORs and their friends.
We will be providing great value in a full evening of entertainment in 5* surroundings and raising money for a Sports Pavilion on the new sports complex. We will shortly be putting booking forms on the new web site and will drop you
a line with a link over the next couple of weeks as well as arrangements for booking rooms or transport as you wish.
We expect demand to be high and Governors have got in early and already reserved two tables.
Wishing you and your families a great Easter holidays. See you soon! Nigel Haigh, Chairman.

Huge congratulations to the U10 Netball team at
St George's Weybridge Tournament. They played brilliantly to
win 2 games and draw another. They lost 2 games however, these
were against the eventual winners and runners up and they stepped up their game holding both teams to a draw
until the dying stages of the matches. Congratulations!
St George's Weybridge Tournament.
We have been learning about castles
and it all came to life for us when
we visited the magnificent
Hever Castle in Kent.
The talk from our guides was very
informative and child-friendly.
Class 1W beat Class 1R to find their
way out of the maze first.
An unplanned highlight of the trip came
at lunchtime when the castle ducks
decided to gate-crash our lunch.
Year 1 were all extremely well-behaved
and full of enthusiasm and were fine
ambassadors for Royal Russell.
A great day out for us all!
